Tacoma Little Theatre will present its first production of 2026, the West Coast Premiere of The Time Machine, Michael D. Fox's new play based on the novel by H. G. Wells.

Anyone who loves science fiction, history, and romance will fall in love with Michael D. Fox’s The Time Machine. The Time Machine is a lovely and magical show for audiences of all ages. Catch this production through February 16th.

The world premiere of THE TIME MACHINE on Hale Centre Theatre’s Jewel Box Stage is a thrilling science fiction ride with a beating heart at its core that adults and teens alike will enjoy. 

City Theatre has announced the winners of the 2022 Young Playwrights Contest. For the past 23 years, City Theatre has held a regional playwrighting contest for students in grades 7-12. The winners will have their plays professionally produced by City Theatre, as well as published in the Young Playwrights Anthology.  

The brand new musical Bandstand, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) with music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, opens tonight, April 26, at The Bernard B. This season, the Art Institute of Chicago invites visitors to feast their eyes on the rich tradition of food in American art with the opening of the major exhibition Art? and Appetite: American Painting, Culture, and Cuisine.Exploring the many meanings and interpretations of eating in America, Art and Appetite--on view from today, November 12, 2013 through January 27, 2014 in the museum's Regenstein Hall --brings together 100 paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts from the 18th through the 20th century to demonstrate how depictions of food have allowed American artists to both celebrate and critique everything from the national diet to society and politics. Following its premiere at the Art Institute, Art ?and Appetite: American Painting, Culture, and Cuisine will travel to the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas (February 22-May 18, 2014).

OPERA America, the national service organization for opera, has announced the recipients of the 2012 National Opera Trustee Recognition Award.

In less than four weeks, just as the early spring flowers start to peek above ground, the Celtic Arts Society will welcome one of the finest assemblages of world class Scottish performing artists to Seattle. And yes, there will be lots of men in kilts! Traditional bagpipes, borderpipes, smallpipes, fiddles, drums and dancers will all descend on Benaroya Hall for one night only at the highly anticipated Masters of Scottish Arts Concert. The Scottish people have a reputation for fun and celebration, and this concert is exactly that.
