PBS to Air Lemon Andersen Documentary LEMON, 10/19

Lemon, a new documentary about the acclaimed New York poet/playwright Lemon Andersen, will have its broadcast premiere on PBS as part of Latino Public Broadcasting's arts and culture series VOCES on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 p.m. ET (check local listings), in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month. Produced and directed by Laura Brownson and Beth Levison, Lemon is a Russell Simmons presentation in association with Impact Partners.

Historic Howard Theatre Re-Opens Today - Wale, Wanda Sykes, et al. Lead Opening Lineup

The Howard Theatre, the historic arts landmark that launched the careers of Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye and The Supremes, announces their grand re-opening after a $29 million renovation and a 32-year hiatus. The Howard Theatre will re-open the week of April 9 with an opening lineup that includes Wale, Wanda Sykes, The Roots, Robert Randolph, Taj Mahal, Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), Meshell Ndegeocello, Bad Brains, Chuck Brown, Chuck Berry, Esperanza Spalding and a weekly Sunday Brunch featuring the Harlem Gospel Choir. The Brooklyn Philharmonic announces five finalists for its community-based BEETHOVEN REMIX PROJECT. Following an open application process coordinated by musician and community organizer Sam Hillmer, where Brooklyn-based DJ's and sound artists were invited to remix the finale of Beethoven's Third Symphony (the Eroica), five finalists have been selected. Tiny Mix Tapes helped spread the word.

Trick and Martina Topley-Bird to Reunite at SUNDANCE LONDON, 27th April

Sundance Institute and The O2 today announced that musician, producer and actor Tricky will reunite on stage with vocalist/musician Martina Topley-Bird for the first time in 15 years to perform his award-winning debut album Maxinquaye in its entirety on Friday, 27th April, 2012 at the first-ever Sundance London as part of the four-day festival's music programme. Tickets will go on general sale on Wednesday 07 March 2012.
