Queer|Art, New York City's home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ+ artists, is pleased to announce a special Fall season of Queer|Art|Film at IFC Center (323 Sixth Avenue at West 3rd St.), September 16-December 2. Organized by guest curators Vivian Crockett, Camilo Godoy, and Carlos Mottaa?"the season, titled Chicas y Fantasmas, explores the shells we inhabit to move through the world. Presented by four contemporary Latinx artists, the season assembles a fierce ensemble of showgirls, cyborgs, glam rockers, and two Chicana teens who defy gendered expectations, ableist norms, and society's limitations to actualize their own self-constructed identities and shape a vision of the world in which they want to live. The Kitchen presents comedic musical performer Morgan Bassichis: Damned if You Duet, demonstrating that there's no better way to learn basic interpersonal skills in adulthood than to duet (November 1-2). In an evening of songs for two, Bassichis will perform the pleasure and pitfalls of the duo form with a lineup of very special guests: artist Malik Gaines, child star Helen Messineo-Pandjiris, cellist Ethan Philbrick, choreographer Mariana Valencia, and perhaps-falling as it does during a time of year where the "veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is thin"-some less tangible partners. Since that day, Henry Street Settlement has been a crucial force for progressive reform and a leading advocate for social change, serving 60,000 New Yorkers each year.
Queer|Art|Mentorship was launched in 2011 to develop an intergenerational and interdisciplinary network of support and shared knowledge for LGBTQ artists. Now beginning its eighth year, the program brings together early-career and advanced-career artists for a year-long exchange across five different fields: Film, Literature, Performance, Visual Art, and Curatorial Practice.

Fresh Ground Pepper (FGP), a New York City based arts incubator in its 10th season of instigating and presenting new work, is proud to announce its first ever multi-week emerging arts festival at The New Ohio Theatre from April 10 through 21, 2018. The inaugural FGP Festival will present art parties, new works-in-progress, and workshop productions that span genre, form, and interactivity, including new works of performance, visual art, comedy, music, immersive theatre, board gaming, and literature.
