The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre in partnership with Nhimbe Trust Zimbabwe and supported by the British Council today announce Here, There, Now, a new digital storytelling collaboration that will bring together young Black women, aged 18 – 25, from West London and Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues will mark their one-year anniversary with a series of unforgettable monologues. Twenty-four actors have been paired with twenty-four writers, who have crafted unique pieces especially for their actors. From 6 PM until 10 PM, new monologues will be published every 15 minutes.

The Story Pirates will release their fourth family music album, The Strawberry Band, on April 2nd. Every song on the adventurous mock concept album was inspired by a kid’s idea, including today’s first single, “Fun Crazy Weird Hair Store,” by a 9 year old named Sylvia from New Jersey. 

The music video for The Sound opens with footage of 2020’s Black Lives Matter protests. The chants of the protests mingle with the strings warming up. “The sound drives me crazy,” the refrain repeats. Harmonious voices and strings, sparkling face masks, shades of purple and blue in braids, puppets, lighting -- this is a marvelous collaboration, and it’s one that is better seen and heard, not read about.
