Anna Chlumsky (My Girl), Julie Halston (Gypsy), LaTanya Richardson Jackson (Freedomland), Doris Roberts ('Everybody Loves Raymond') and Brooke Shields ('Lipstick Jungle') joined the May cast of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's smash hit show Love, Loss, and What I Wore beginning this week on April 28 (through May 23). Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which opened in October 2009 and played its 200th performance on Sunday (3/28/10), has been playing to sold-out houses at the Westside Theatre. MSG Entertainment and the Garden of Dreams Foundation celebrated the Sixth Annual Spring Talent Show: 'City of Dreams' on the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall last night on April 28. Special hosts included Whoopi Goldberg, Darryl 'D.M.C.' McDaniels, Mike Dameski who is currently starring as Billy Elliot from Broadway's BILLY ELLIOT, Matthew Modine, Radio City Rockettes and MSG Network Knicks reporter Jill Martin. The Garden of Dreams Foundation is a non-profit charity that works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden to 'make dreams come true for children in crisis.' This year's show will feature a variety of individual and group performances, including dancing, singing and instrumental acts. The NYC-themed event will also present an inspiring opening and finale act showcasing all the participating children. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the event.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway publicly announced the nominees for the 2009-10 season on Monday, April 26th at the historic Algonquin Hotel. Outer Critics Circle posted award nominations in 23 categories and are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season. BLOODSONG OF LOVE, which was commissioned and developed by Ars Nova, began previews on April 1st prior to an official press opening of April 15th at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues) in Manhattan.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) will present NEO6, a benefit concert celebrating New, Emerging, Outstanding musical theatre writers, on Monday, May 10 at its home in Saint Peter's Theatre. Following the 7:30 PM performance (featuring the voices of many of today's top musical theatre talent), there will be a champagne and dessert reception to end the evening.
National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) held its Annual Chairman's Awards Gala and benefit yesterday, Monday, April 19 at the St. Regis New York hotel. This year, NCTF Chairman James S. Turley, Chairman & CEO of Ernst & Young, honored Nathan Lane (currently starring on Broadway in The Addams Family), set designer Eugene Lee (Wicked) and Wells Fargo & Company. Accepting the award on behalf of Wells Fargo was Joe Kirk, Regional President for New York and Connecticut. All net proceeds of the event will be distributed as the NCTF/WELLS FARGO FUND FOR NEW AMERICAN THEATRE.

Tony-nominated director Susan H. Schulman is set to direct I DO, I DO, a musical by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, this summer at the Westport Country Playhouse from August 10th through the 28th.

Last night on Tuesday, April 13, Bishop Gene Robinson, the first openly gay priest to be ordained a bishop in a major Christian denomination, lead a talk back with cast and audience following a performance of NEXT FALL on Broadway. Robinson currently serves as the ninth bishop of the Diocese of New Hampshire in the Episcopal Church. The talkback was free to anyone attending last night's performance.
