The American premiere of This Wide Night starring two-time Golden Globe and three-time Emmy Award-winner Edie Falco and Tony nominee Alison Pill began previews May 8 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street). This Wide Night open last night on May 16, 2010 and runs through June 20, 2010.

The creators of the 2009 NYMF hit Fat Camp are back with Perez Hilton Saves The Universe (Or At Least The Greater Los Angeles Area): The Musical when it returns for one performance, Sunday 30th at 9:30pm at Joe's Pub.

Tony- and Emmy award-winning actress Cherry Jones joins Keith Lockhart, the Boston Pops, and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and special guests-actors Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, and Ed Harris-for the world premiere performance of The Dream Lives On: A Portrait of the Kennedy Brothers-the centerpiece of the Boston Pops' 125th anniversary season celebration-on May 18, at 8 p.m. (repeated on May 19), at Symphony Hall in Boston, MA. Cherry Jones, who can currently be seen in the hit TV show 24 as President Allison Taylor, has appeared in Oceans Twelve, The Village, Signs, and Cradle Will Rock, and in guest appearances on television shows including 'The West Wing' and 'Frasier.' Ms. Jones won Tony awards in 1995 for her leading role in The Heiress and in 2005 for her leading role in Doubt, and won an Emmy award in 2009 for her role in 24. The world premiere performances of The Dream Lives On are the centerpiece of the Boston Pops 125th anniversary season, May 4-June 20.

Last night, Monday, May 10, The New Group opened their latest production of The Kid. This marks the final production in The New Group's current 2009-2010 season, which featured Kenneth Lonergan's The Starry Messenger and most recently, the hit revival of Sam Shepard's A Lie of the Mind, directed by Ethan Hawke. The Kid plays a limited Off-Broadway engagement through May 29 at The New Group @ Theatre Row. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the opening night after party arrivals.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) will present NEO6, a benefit concert celebrating New, Emerging, Outstanding musical theatre writers, on Monday, May 10 at its home in Saint Peter's Theatre. Following the 7:30 PM performance (featuring the voices of many of today's top musical theatre talent), there will be a champagne and dessert reception to end the evening.

Ars Nova, under the leadership of Artistic Director Jason Eagan, will present the world premiere of the new musical BLOODSONG OF LOVE with book, music & lyrics by Joe Iconis and directed by John Simpkins. BLOODSONG OF LOVE, which was commissioned and developed by Ars Nova, began previews on April 1st prior to an official press opening of April 15th at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues) in Manhattan.

Radio Happy Hour returns home to New York from their brief Midwestern tour on May 08 for a performance at (le) Poisson Rouge. The May episode will feature indie-folk icon David Bazan, actor Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid & The Whale, Adventureland, and the upcoming The Living Wake), and comedian Max Silvestri for a comedic murder-mystery, musical performances, interviews and more.

TACT/The Actor's Company Theatre celebrated the remarkable success of its 2009/10 season and honored the accomplishments of one of the country's most renowned and recognizable actors, Sam Waterston, at its annual spring gala on Monday, May 3rd at The Edison Ballroom. The celebratory evening kicked off at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which opened in October 2009 and played its 200th performance on Sunday (3/28/10), has been playing to sold-out houses at the Westside Theatre. MSG Entertainment and the Garden of Dreams Foundation celebrated the Sixth Annual Spring Talent Show: 'City of Dreams' on the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall last night on April 28. Special hosts included Whoopi Goldberg, Darryl 'D.M.C.' McDaniels, Mike Dameski who is currently starring as Billy Elliot from Broadway's BILLY ELLIOT, Matthew Modine, Radio City Rockettes and MSG Network Knicks reporter Jill Martin. The Garden of Dreams Foundation is a non-profit charity that works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden to 'make dreams come true for children in crisis.' This year's show will feature a variety of individual and group performances, including dancing, singing and instrumental acts. The NYC-themed event will also present an inspiring opening and finale act showcasing all the participating children. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the event.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway publicly announced the nominees for the 2009-10 season on Monday, April 26th at the historic Algonquin Hotel. Outer Critics Circle posted award nominations in 23 categories and are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season.
