Wetumpka Depot Players to Present TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, Opening 10/15

The Wetumpka Depot Players are inviting audiences to curl up with a good "script" and cup of coffee.  The fall slate of shows wrapping up the Depot Player's 35th Anniversary Season are based on best selling books.  Tuesdays with Morrie, opens for a two week run on the Depot stage, October 15.  This play follows a successful run of Love, Loss and What I Wore, another play based on a best seller.

Playhouse on Park to Open Season with TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE

Playhouse on Park is pleased to present Mitch Albom's Tuesdays With Morrie, the first of many dynamic shows included in its Season Seven Main Stage Series. Fans of the touching and unforgettable book will be thrilled to see this story come to life on stage. Opening night is Friday, October 2.

Mitch Albom & Friends Charity Book Launch Set for Fox Theatre, 11/8

Mitch Albom will host an evening of entertainment and storytelling to benefit S.A.Y Detroit and the launch of his newest novel “The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto” at the Fox Theatre on Sunday, November 8 at 7 p.m. The event will be a mix of performances and conversations between Albom and a wildly impressive line-up of music-related guests including Earl Klugh, Ted Nugent, Michael Bolton, JK Simmons (Oscar winner for 'Whiplash) jazz guitar star John Pizzarelli, Phredley Brown (musical director for Bruno Mars), Roger McGuinn (founding member of the Byrds) and local musicians Olivia Millerschin and Vito Lafata, as well as others. (Lineup is subject to change.)

BWW Fall Roundup: The Scoop on What Shows Not to Miss this Fall on Connecticut Stages

Summer is on its way out, but Connecticut theaters are heating up with some exciting offerings this fall. Theater lovers have the best of both worlds here in the Nutmeg State: Broadway is just down the road, but we never even have to leave home to see exceptional theater thanks to the bevy of professional theaters that call Connecticut home too. This season looks particularly exciting and I'll share with you what I am most looking forward to reviewing this fall. There are other great shows scheduled this fall as well as through the 2016 season, but in the interest of space, I will concentrate on top picks for this fall.

Penobscot Theatre Company to Offer Free Preview of 2015-16 Season

Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin today announced the July 1st opening of Jeffrey Hatcher's area premiere adaptation of Wait Until Dark, written by Frederick Knott at Saint Michael's Playhouse (tonight, July 1 - 11). Directed by Sarah Carleton the cast features Abby Lee as Susan, John D. Alexander as Roat, Christian Kohn as Mike, Bill Carmichael as Carlino, David Rossetti as Sam, and introducing Jillian Kenny as Gloria.

Playhouse on Park Now Casting for Season 7

Award-winning professional theatre Playhouse on Park is now casting for its upcoming seventh season. Local auditions will be held at the Playhouse on August 30th and 31st, and NYC auditions will be held on July 10th and 11th.

BWW Previews: Jay Doolittle Stars in TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE at The Roxy

Veteran actor Jay Doolittle returns to Clarksville's Roxy Regional Theatre this spring to reprise his role as Morrie Schwartz in the beloved play based on Mitch Albom's New York Times bestselling memoir, Tuesdays With Morrie, running March 27 - April 11.
