Tiny Father was originally commissioned by Audible as part of their Audible Emerging Playwrights Fund. Lew is the 2021 Guggenheim Fellow and Teenage Dick playwright. In the play Lew draws upon personal experience with a premature baby and the acceptance of becoming a parent whether you are ready or not.

The Donmar Warehouse reopens in September, following a programme of essential works to replace key infrastructure within the venue, including the lift, plant, ventilation and air cooling. The Cape Cod Theatre Project (CCTP) continues to bring extraordinary playwriting talent to the Cape this July with Season 27, featuring its 100th play. The Drama League has just announced the 2021 Nominees and Special Recognition Honorees for The 87th Annual Drama League Awards. Today, The 24 Hour Plays announced that the 10th annual application for The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals will be available starting March 24, 2021 and will run through April 11, 2021. The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals will take place virtually (for the second year in a row) and applicants from everywhere are engaged to apply.

The Kleban Foundation celebrates the 31st anniversary of the annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre with the announcement of the 2021 prizewinners. The Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Benjamin Scheuer. The Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to co-librettists Melissa Li and Kit Yan.

Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced that applications are open for the 10th anniversary of hosting retreats for musical theatre writers. There will be nine consecutive weeklong residencies in the Hudson Valley between June 27 and August 29 for nine musical theatre writing teams.
