It was announced today (Friday 15 March 2019) that renowned stage, film and TV performer Peter Polycarpou will play Don Quixote's squire, Sancho Panza in Man of the Mancha at the London Coliseum; the first West End production of this multi-Tony award-winning Broadway musical for 50 years.

Hartford Stage announced today three plays for the upcoming 2019/2020 season, including Quixote Nuevo by Octavio Solis, Cry it Out by Molly Smith Metzler and Jane Eyre, adapted and directed by Hartford Stage Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Williamson. Three additional mainstage productions will be announced in the coming weeks.

The award-winning MNM Theatre Company, under the direction of Executive Producer and Artistic Director Marcie Gorman, will mount two of Broadway's most beloved and successful musicals in 2019.  Man of La Mancha will run from September 13th through September 29th, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum will run from November 22nd through December 8th.  Both shows will be performed in the Raymond F. Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse, and Forum will be a co-presentation with the Kravis Center.  

At the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco today, March 7, Grammy winning Brazilian singer and pianist Elias performs songs from her previously unreleased 1995 album devoted to composer Mitch Leigh's Tony-winning score to the Broadway hit Man of La Mancha. This concert kicks off Elias' four-night residency.

Hostos Center for the Arts continues its partnership with Repertorio Español, the award-winning Spanish language theater company, with El Quijote on Friday, March 15, 7:30 PM in the Repertory Theater at Hostos Community College, 450 Grand Concourse, in the Bronx. Directed by Jorge Ali Triana, El Quijote is an adaption by Santiago Garcia of Miguel de Cervantes' epic novel that follows the misadventures of Don Quixote and his loyal squire Sancho Panza. One of Repertorio Español's most popular productions, it is now in its 11th season. Performed in Spanish with English Surtitles.

"Man of La Mancha," the first fully-staged musical in the 34-year history of the Hampton Theatre Company, will be the third play of the HTC's 2018-2019 season, opening on March 21 at the Quogue Community Hall and running through April 7.

It was announced today that the BAFTA award-winning actor Nicholas Lyndhurst and West End star Cassidy Janson have joined Kelsey Grammer and Danielle de Niese in the acclaimed musical Man of La Mancha which opens at the London Coliseum on 26 April 2019.

It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. It is then up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The Bolshoi Ballet's production of Don Quixote comes to the big screen in HD at The Ridgefield Playhouse Sunday, January 6 at 2pm in an encore presentation recorded in Moscow. Inspired by heroic stories of brave knights, with his faithful servant Sancho Panza at his side, Don Quixote sets out on an adventure to meet his ideal woman, Dulcinea. With panache and sparkling technique, principal dancers Ekaterina Krysanova and Semyon Chudin lead the spectacular cast of toreadors, flamenco dancers, gypsies, and dryads in the Bolshoi's critically-acclaimed staging of this exalted performance. A quintessential Bolshoi event, this screening is part of the Atria Senior Living Classical Series with support from Whistle Stop Bakery. Este montaje retomará a una de las figuras principales de la literatura universal y presentará un cortejo fúnebre muy mexicano en el que se despide al gran Alonso Quijano entre risas, jolgorio, embriaguez y recuerdos de su fiel escudero, Sancho Panza.
