The Winter Park Playhouse, Central Florida's only professional musical theatre, announces their 2017-2018 Mainstage Series of musical productions.

BrightSide Theatre, Naperville's only professional theatre performing in the historic downtown district, continues its sixth season - Classic Broadway. Moon Over Buffalo will perform at the Theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall at North Central College, 31 S. Ellsworth Street in Naperville March 10-26, 2017.

It's not a mystery why Cleveland audiences scramble to the theatre when a Ken Ludwig piece is set to take the stage. Ludwig's witty works are always guaranteed to leave audiences howling with laughter, and this master of madcap's latest work to come to Cleveland Play House is no exception.

"In late July of 1967, there was but one table - on an empty lot on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida, an unlikely spot 50 years ago for what would become an icon in the Jacksonville cultural landscape and within the national theater scene.  Set for two, that single table was covered by an elegant lace cloth, and adorned with matching napkins, silverware, stylish china plates and coffee cups and tall crystal glasses.

Director John DiFusco, himself a Vietnam Veteran, opened the world premiere of Rebecca Stahl's EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN on Veteran's Day 11-11-16 at the Hollywood American Legion Post 43, produced by Karl Risinger and Liberty Theater. The play tells the interrelated tale of four generations of vets, each dealing with their own difficulties, who collaborate to help a Lance Porter, a young veteran coming home from the war in Afghanistan. who is haunted by the loss and experiences that followed him back and are destroying his personal relationships and life as he knew it.

Red Branch Theatre Company (RBTC) will complete its 2016 season entitled Paint It Red with the snappy, jazzy holiday musical comedy The Happy Elf. Follow Eubie the Elf as he sets out on a mission to restore Christmas joy to a town called Bluesville where every single child is on Santa's naughty list. It's probably hard to find anyone around today who is not familiar with Judy Garland. Older generations may have grown up with her in "Easter Parade" or "Meet Me in St. Louis". Others might remember her fondly as a powerhouse entertainer and singer who hosted her own television variety show. Frances Seymour Fonda, actor Henry Fonda's second wife, was only 32 years old when the theater she commissioned architect Arthur W. Hawes to build opened in December of 1940. Originally known as the Westwood Theater, it was designed to be a performance space for live productions and for a short time it did fulfill that mission. Across town, movie musicals like Busby Berkeley's Strike Up the Band and Down Argentine Way were becoming box office hits as Tinseltown capitalized on the popularity of established young stars such as Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney and soon-to-be stars like pin-up girl Betty Grable and Carmen Miranda.
