Best known as the illustrator of the American classic Eloise, Hilary Knight cites the performing arts as the single greatest influence on his life and career. Now for the first time, Knight's life-long love of the theatrical is the subject of a comprehensive exhibition, which has been extended through October 14, 2017 at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Hilary Knight's Stage-Struck World includes original artwork for posters, illustrations for Vanity Fair magazine (where Knight is a contributing editor), Knight's most recent work - three-dimensional portraits in stage-like settings - and costume and set designs for performances and revues that reveal that for Knight, all the world is indeed a stage.

Fashion and nightclub icons turned out in force to celebrate the opening of their friend and colleague, Paul Alexander, and his new musical TRINKETS playing now at Gene Frankel Theater. Performances are on Aug 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12  & 16. The Sacramento children's theatre community is going to have some big shoes to fill next summer. For the past 32 years kids have flocked to the Pied Piper of junior musical theatre, Ron Cisneros. Watching him with "his kids", as he calls them, it's no wonder that he has put on a successful summer program since 1985. He alternates between big hugs, stern affection, and an intense dedication to the craft that has made him a Sacramento icon. Unfortunately, this is the last summer of children's workshops for Cisneros Studio of Dance.

It is always sensational news when we hear Dann Dunn is returning to Candlelight to direct and choreograph. Coming off a most recent and successful WSS at Media Theatre, Dunn opens with Gershwin's CRAZY FOR YOU on May 13th at the newly renovated Arden barn. The existing show was adapted from the original Gershwin show, GIRL CRAZY.
