Abingdon Theatre Company just celebrated its 2015-2016 Season with ABINGDON: REFLECTIONS OF STARLIGHT, last night, October 26 at Espace (635 West 42nd Street in Manhattan). Richard Jay-Alexander, best known for directing Barbra Streisand and other artists in concert, directed the event, honoring Tony Award-winning costume designer Jane Greenwood, who designed Abingdon's acclaimed production of Hellman v. McCarthy; Abingdon Theatre Company's Vice Chair and former Managing Director, Heather Henderson; and one of New York's most prominent lawyers in entertainment, Mark Sendroff.

Michael Feinstein joined Nick Ziobro, the 17 year-old pop/jazz vocal sensation, as a special guest for his CD release concert at Birdland Jazz Club (315 West 44th Street in Manhattan) last night, May 22 at 6:00 PM. The CD's all-star band - led by Tedd Firth and featuring music Jay Leonhart on bass, Ray Marchica on drums, Brian Pareschi on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Marc Phaneuf on saxophone and clarinet - also joined the concert. Nick's debut album A Lot of Livin' to Do is produced by Michael Feinstein, the two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy Award-nominated vocalist, pianist and musicologist. Last night, Casey Nicholaw and Josh Marquette hosted a cocktail event to benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation at One Museum Mile (1280 Fifth Avenue). Attendees included Broadway luminaries Jeff Blumenkrantz, Danny Burstein, Carolee Carmello, Jeanine Tesori and Michael James Scott, and stars of HGTV's Selling New York Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon. The event raised over $7,500 for the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

For those yearning for the glamour and entertainment clarity of New York nightclub life in the 30's 40's and 50's Tom Postilio's debut at this cathedral of The American Songbook was totally captivating. He may be ' SELLING NEW YORK' (real estate) as star of that HGTV show but His sold out sophisticated New York audience also bought every song he sang in his show 'This Time Around'. Tom has 'been around' in theaters and nightclubs throughout the country and appeared on NBC-TV's 'Today' show, PBS Great Performances, BBC News and CNN's ShowBiz Today. But there is nothing like seeing and hearing him LIVE. The audience was filled with 'Old Friends' which appropriately was his opening number. Pianist/Arranger Dean Schneider was right on key with his accompaniment as was Steve Laspina on Bass and Dave Meade on Drums. Mark Waldrop directed the great array of Amersican Standards and Mickey Conlon was an added treat joing Tom for 'Me And My Shadow'.

John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, Shrek The Musical) once again hosted, and Emmy-nominated writer, host and comic Seth Rudetsky returned as musical director, along with director Alan Muraoka (NAATCO's Falsettoland).
