A legendary producer on the New England straw hat circuit, most notably for over two decades at Rhode Island's historic Theatre-by-the-Sea theatre, Tommy Brent, the man who single-handedly saved one of the nation's iconic summer stock theater twice -passed away on June 4th, 2011, Even at 88 years old, Brent a non-stop ambassador of theatre was expected to join the theater's opening-night party at the theater Friday (6/3), but did not attend.

MEMPHIS, Broadway's current Tony Award® winning Best Musical, is hitting big screens nationwide for an exclusive four-night run on Thursday, April 28; Saturday, April 30; and Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m., with a special matinee on Sunday, May 1 at 12:30 p.m. (all times are local). Last week The Creative Coalition and friends celebrated Broadway's romantic comedy Born Yesterday with an exclusive reception at the iconic 'Tobacconist to the World,' Nat Sherman. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the Canadian distributor Fremantle has acquired the international rights to Broadway's MEMPHIS. They write: 'Toronto-based Fremantle will start shopping the two-hour, HD musical special event from Broadway Worldwide at MIP-TV 2011.'
