The Waukesha Civic Theatre presents Elf The Musical, running December 6-22, 2019. As a young orphan, Buddy finds himself mistakenly taken to the North Pole. Raised as an elf, Buddy has no idea who he truly is until his human size and lack of elf-abilities force him to face the truth. This realization sends Buddy on the holiday adventure of a lifetime, traveling to New York City to find his family, himself, and the true meaning of Christmas.

This family musical brings the 2003 movie to a new level with cheerful, Christmas-infused songs. Buddy always believed he was like every other elf in Santa's workshop, despite his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities. When Buddy discovers he is actually a human, he decides to make a change. The Des Moines Community Playhouse held the 2019 Dionysos Awards on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019. The theatre honored 14 backstage, guest services, and education volunteers, and announced 12 acting award winners. The evening began with a number from A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, on stage now through Sept. 29, 2019.

Surflight Theatre will be opening their ever popular Holiday production for 2018, ELF the Musical, based on a motion picture of the same name, with a score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin on December 5th. The book is adapted by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan from the 2003 film. This will be the second musical by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin that Surflight has produced this season having had The Wedding Singer in their 2018 summer lineup.

'Elf the Musical,' that is playing at Beef & Boards this past holiday weekend, left this reviewer longing to go home and watch the 2003 movie that inspired the traveling musical. But, that's not because I was disappointed.

With carols, Christmas songs and readings, Christmas is celebrated in true West End style. Once again this year we will be returning to the beautiful surroundings of St Paul's (The Actors) Church in Covent Garden on Sunday 2nd December 2018 at 7.30pm
