Full casting has been announced for the touring production of the new musical Come From Away. The 5th Avenue Theatre kicks off its 2018-19 season with the launch of Come From Away's North American tour, playing October 9 - November 4, 2018. If it is the secret of happiness you seek, you might look no further than The Kennedy Theatre in Downtown Raleigh where Theatre Raleigh's production of 'Daddy Long Legs' opened last night. Based on the 1912 novel by Jean Webster, the two-actor musical 'Daddy Long Legs' is the coming-of-age story of Jerusha Abbott, the oldest orphan in The John Grier Home. Jerusha's life is forever changed when a mysterious unknown benefactor, who calls himself Mr. Smith, decides to send her to college. His nine-point plan 'for the further education of Jerusha Abbott' includes she write him one letter every month, which he will not read nor respond to. Over the next four years, Jerusha finds her spirit, voice, happiness, and love in the arms of Jervis Pendleton, who may have a secret of his own. 'Daddy Long Legs' is a sweet, heartfelt love story in the spirit of Miklos Laszlo's 1937 play 'Parfumerie,' which inspired the movies 'The Shop Around the Corner' and 'You've Got Mail.' And who knows, perhaps Theatre Raleigh's production may even inspire you to pen a love letter of your own.

Forty years ago, two visionary leaders - Isaiah Sheffer and Allan Miller- took over an abandoned Upper West Side theater for an all-day free marathon concert called Wall to Wall Bach.  This event founded Symphony Space, and every year since 1978, Symphony Space has been presenting free marathon Wall to Wall events, hailed by The New York Times as 'an annual gift to the city of New York.'  In its 40th anniversary year, Symphony Space's signature concert event celebrates the centennial of a cherished American composer: Leonard Bernstein.  This FREE marathon concert will honor Bernstein's legacy with music, dance, conversation, film clips, and more, exploring the many facets of his creative life (May 19th, 3pm-11pm, Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, 95th and Broadway).

GOLDSTEIN, a new musical about family with music and lyrics by Michael Roberts (Golf: The Musical) and a book byCharlie Schulman (The Kitchen), will play its final performance on Sunday, May 20 at 3pm at the Actors Temple Theatre (339 West 47 St -between 8th and 9th Avenues). Directed by Brad Rouse (Hit The Body Alarm) and choreographed by Sarah O'Gleby (Associate Choreographer, Disney's Frozen),GOLDSTEIN began performances on Monday, March 26 and officially opened on Thursday, April 5. At the time of closing, GOLDSTEIN will have played 10 previews and 52 regular performances.

GOLDSTEIN, a new musical about family with music and lyrics by Michael Roberts (Golf: The Musical) and a book byCharlie Schulman (The Kitchen), announced today a new ticket promotion. From now through May 27, GOLDSTEIN will be offering buy-one-get-one tickets at the box office for patrons with the last name "Goldstein," - or patrons with a last name that includes a "Gold" or a "Stein" - with a photo ID. In lieu of a photo ID, they will happily accept a well-crafted, convincing argument.

Broadway veteran Megan McGinnis is no stranger to the musical Daddy Long Legs. In fact, she originated the role of the character Jerusha at the Rubicon Theatre in 2009, where the musical premiered. These days, however, she is reimagining the show as the director for Theatre Raleigh's production which opens next week. She sat down with me to discuss making her directorial debut, revisiting material that is near and dear to her heart, and what's next. Theatre Raleigh ushers in the 2018 Summer Series with the classic 'rags-to-riches' tale of newfound love Daddy Long Legs at the Kennedy Theatre May 16th  through the 27th. This heartwarming Cinderella story about a witty and winsome young woman and her mysterious benefactor is based on the classic novel by Jean Webster.  The two-person musical is a beloved tale in the spirit of Jane Austen, The Bronte Sisters and "Downton Abbey'.

Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster brings her irresistible talent and effusive charm to the intimate Appel Room for a headlining night of songs and stories with special guest, two-time Tony nominee Jonathan Groff. Andrew Wilk is the Executive Producer of Live From Lincoln Center. This Stars In Concert episode is directed by Annette Jolles and will premiere April 20, 2018 at 9:00 p.m. on PBS.
