Roald Dahl's beloved classic takes the stage in a new musical!  One boy, two awful aunts, five larger-than-life insects, and a giant peach!  What happens when magic crystals cause a withered old tree to create the largest and most magnificent peach ever seen?  Luckily, a boy named James and a handful of bugs just happen to be nearby when the peach finally snaps free of its stem, and it sweeps them along on a marvelous adventure.

On Friday, April 22nd, 2016 the 17th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival will present its UK Spotlight, an evening celebration of British cinema and culture. The event will feature the Regional Premieres of three highly anticipated UK films: Sunset Song (2015), The Man Who Knew Infinity (2015), and High-Rise (2015), followed by a festive post-screening reception.

Windy City Playhouse, Chicago's newest professional theater, launches 2016 with the Chicago premiere of Nell Benjamin's slapstick farce The Explorers Club, set in a Victorian-era scientific gentleman's club. David H. Bell directs Cristina Panfilio (Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Pericles) as a female anthropologist vying for membership. Alex Goodrich (Elf: The Musical), Ryan Imhoff (Chicago Shakespeare Theater's A Midsummer Night's Dream), Matt Browning (Redtwist's Incident at Vichy), Graham Emmons (Prologue's Porcelain), Dan Rodden (Theater at the Center's On Golden Pond) and Zack Shornick (MPAACT's Ghosts of Atwood) make up the Club members, while Colin Morgan (Oracle's No Beast So Fierce) is Queen Victoria's private secretary and Wesley Daniel (Chicago Shakes' Pericles) is a blue-skinned primitive. Previews for The Explorers Club begin Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Windy City Playhouse, 3014 West Irving Park Road. In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, comedian Louis C.K. revealed his big Broadway dreams. He told THR: 'I definitely have huge benefits to how well I'm doing, but you do find yourself missing the climb. It's a little like Mount Everest. When you summit, you spend about 20 minutes up there, and you do a little dance, but if the 20-minute dance was really it, would you really risk your life for the amount of work it takes to get up and down? So every time I feel like I've found a clearing, I try to find something else that I don't know how to do yet. That's just much more interesting to me.'
