BWW Review: HOBSON'S CHOICE at Quotidian Theatre Company
by Elliot Lanes - Feb 23, 2018

Last season on Broadway there was a play called Time and the Conways presented at Roundabout Theatre Company. The play hadn't been seen on Broadway since 1937 and after seeing it I understood why. That said, the production had a great look and a very good cast so you could forget about the stodginess of the script. Bethesda, Maryland-based Quotidian Theatre Company's current production of Hobson's Choice bears a resemblance to Time and the Conways because you don't ever see it performed. Unfortunately, the production values – a result of a limited budget – and some questionable casting can't hide all the warts of Harold Brighouse's over 100-year-old script.

NEXTSTOP Theatre's production of Crimes of the Heart provides a few bursts of heart-stopping drama with minimal laughs and leaves the 1970's aesthetic at the door.

BWW Reviews: THE WHO'S TOMMY Takes the Stage at Prince William Little Theatre
by Jeffrey Walker - Jul 16, 2015

The iconic rock opera is back onstage and Prince William Little Theatre has got it. A challenging show for even a professional company, this community theatre tackles Pete Townshend's landmark piece with gusto and innovative staging by director Melissa Jo York-Tilley and co-choreographers Melanie Marie Gibson and Ahmad Maaty. Boasting some strong performances of the classic rock score, the production gets an “E” for effort.

BWW Reviews: THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at the Kensington Arts Center
by Benjamin Reiser - Feb 20, 2015

As I walked into a performance of Kensington's 'Spelling Bee,' I was admittedly unnerved by the show's conspicuously simple scenic design. After all, the production literally takes place in what looks like a school gymnasium with a hastily put-together stage. Mere moments into the show, however, I realized that I had stepped into one of the most authentic, genuine, and shrewd stagings of 'Spelling Bee' to date.
