The Road Theatre Company and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, present the first show of its 2017-2018 season, the world premiere of STUPID KID, written by acclaimed playwright Sharr White (The Other Place) and directed by Cameron Watson (Cat on A Hot Tin Roof).

Join Matrix School of Theatre this September as youth learn to become playwrights, producers and performers of their own work! Classes begin September 19 meeting each Tuesday from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm, and culminate in a showcase performanceDecember 12. The MITTEN Lab (A Michigan Incubator for Theatre Talent Emerging Now), led by co-founders Katherine M. Carter and Rachel Sussman, has announced this year's artists for its second annual residency program in Northern Michigan, taking place October 8 through 15.

Matrix Theatre Company completes its 2016 - 2017 Mainstage Season with its most highly anticipated show, Dream Deferred: Detroit, 1967. The original production opens June 2 and runs through June 25 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM. A Motor City-themed party is planned at Donovan's Pub in Southwest Detroit to raise funds for Dream Deferred: Detroit, 1967, Matrix Theatre Company's final and most anticipated Mainstage production of the season. The fundraiser will take place on Friday, March 31 from 6 PM to 9 PM at Donovan's Pub, a popular Irish-American pub with a Polish-American proprietor, located at 3003 West Vernor Hwy in the heart of Detroit's Mexicantown. The Matrix Teen Company is pleased to present their newest original play, Audition Awakening, which focuses on three teens who work toward achieving their dreams despite the challenges they face. Audition Awakening runs April 7 - 9 on Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 3 PM and 8 PM, and Sunday at 3 PM.
