Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden hosted the official dedication of Windows on the Floating World: Blume Tropical Wetland Garden on Tuesday, June 13. The stunning new garden features a series of walkways and permanent and changing aquatic plant displays that allow visitors to feel and connect to the tropical wetlands around them.

The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County has just received the Bernays Award for producing a groundbreaking, and culturally diverse performance during the Governor's Conference on Tourism in Boca Raton.

Four Broward County artists have been named as recipients of the 2013 South Florida Cultural Consortium Visual and Media Artists Fellowships. Leah Brown ($15,000) - Mixed Media; Henning Haupt ($7,500) - Mixed Media; Catalina Jaramillo (($15,000) Installation; and Rosanna Saccaccio ($7,500) - Visual Art, were recently selected to receive this esteemed, five-county artist fellowship. This year's selection is from a record-breaking group of more than 360 applicants. In total, fourteen fellowships were awarded in the five-county area - Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Martin counties.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre has earned 18 nominations for the 35th annual Carbonell Awards, South Florida's equivalent of the Tony Awards.

The evening includes cocktails at sunset, followed by a showcase of South Florida's finest musical talent and culinary delights. Florida Stage opens its 24th season with the new mystery 'Cane,' written by Andrew Rosendorf. Cane represents the first in a collection of plays being commissioned by Florida Stage about issues central to the state of Florida (The Florida Cycle). This is a deeply human and riveting new play with some extraordinary special effects-that looks at how it is possible that one of the wettest states in the nation has become so dry.

As a part of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre?s Emerging Artist Series in Musical Theater Playwriting, a reading of the musical Dani Girl, will be performed Wednesday, April 15 at 7:30pm on the Theatre?s stage. This reading, free and open to the public, was written by Michael Kooman with Book and Lyrics by Christopher Dimond.
