Howard County Arts Council has announced that applications for the FY2023 Mark Ryder Original Choreography Grant Program are now available. Established at the bequest of Mark Ryder's family in honor of his life's work, this program recognizes individual creative expression by providing financial assistance to choreographers to create new original work.

The awards were announced by Jennifer Jones from the Office of Howard County Executive Dr. Calvin Ball at the Arts Council's annual meeting and reception at the Howard County Center for the Arts on September 17, 2021.

Howard County Arts Council has announced that applications for the FY2022 Mark Ryder Original Choreography Grant Program are now available. Established at the bequest of Mark Ryder's family in honor of his life's work, this program recognizes individual creative expression by providing financial assistance to choreographers to create new original work.

Forty-three arts and cultural organizations will receive $607,834 in grant funding from the Howard County Arts Council for Fiscal Year 2021. The awards were announced September 9, 2020.

The team behind the new comedy movie The Argument (starring Dan Fogler, Emma Bell, Maggie Q, Danny Pudi, Cleopatra Coleman, Tyler James Williams and Charlotte McKinney and directed by Robert Schwartzman) is creating a multi-sensory movie-watching experience with the launch of The Argument wine, a Sonoma Pinot Noir, to be enjoyed as a bundle with the movie.

Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) is pleased to announce that applications for the FY2020 Mark Ryder Original Choreography Grant Program are now available. Established at the bequest of Mark Ryder's family in honor of his life's work, this program recognizes individual creative expression by providing financial assistance to choreographers to create new original work.  A fund has been established at the Columbia Foundation to enable monies to be awarded for this purpose in perpetuity. The grant award recipients will be announced at HCAC's Annual Meeting and Grant Awards Ceremony in September 2019.  The minimum grant amount will be $500. 

DEVIATED THEATRE, whose mesmerizing dance operas are heralded for their spellbindingly compelling choreography, celebrates its 10th Anniversary performance with the world premiere of Beyond, presented by Dance Place (DC) on July 7th and 8th, 2018. With an all-heroine cast, Beyond follows Luna the astronaut on a journey with an interplanetary reach that takes her to the very edge of life.

The awards were announced at the Arts Council's annual meeting and reception at the Howard County Center for the Arts on September 20, 2013. These matching grants will be used by 20 Howard County organizations; 14 Howard County public schools; and 10 key Baltimore City organizations to support general operations and projects taking place in Howard County, artist residencies, and special projects in the arts.
