Westport Country Playhouse to Participate in Nationwide GHOSTLIGHT PROJECT This Week

Westport Country Playhouse will join more than 300 theaters nationwide in the Ghostlight Project, a shared, ongoing commitment to social justice by the theatrical community across the country, on Thursday, January 19, at 5:30 p.m., in the outside courtyard.  The nonpartisan event is free and open to the public.

The 11th Annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration, featuring keynote speaker Professor Tricia Rose of Brown University, was held on Sunday, January 15, at Westport Country Playhouse. Her topic was 'WWMD - 'What Would Martin Do in the Era of Post-Race Racism?' Free-of-charge and open to the public, the celebration was presented in partnership with TEAM Westport, Westport Country Playhouse, and the Westport/Weston Interfaith Council. Westport Country Playhouse to Launch New 'Story Explorers' Program

Westport Country Playhouse, The Westport Library, and Westport Young Woman's League are partnering for a new, free-of-charge program, 'Story Explorers,' beginning in January, intended to promote childhood literacy while also enhancing children's experiences of attending the Playhouse's Family Festivities shows.

Berkeley Rep Presents West Coast Premiere of Broadway Smash Hit HAND TO GOD

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the West Coast premiere of Hand to God written by Robert Askins and directed by David Ivers. The Broadway smash hit and Tony Award-nominated play begins previews on Friday, February 3, and the show runs through Sunday, March 19. Individual tickets begin at $29 and can be purchased online at berkeleyrep.org or by phone, 510 647-2949. Press night will be on Friday, February 10.

Westport Country Playhouse Announces 2016-17 Family Festivities Series

Westport Country Playhouse announces its 2016-17 Family Festivities Series on selected Sundays from November through April, featuring musical productions based on classic and new children's stories.  The six-show series includes the favorite tale, "Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat," and a new show, "Twinkle Tames a Dragon, The Musical," by Katharine Holabird, the author of the popular book series, "Angelina Ballerina." Performances are at 1 and 4 p.m. Tickets, at $20 each, are now on sale. 

Westport Country Playhouse Family Festivities Series Presents THE MIXED-UP FAIRY TALE

Westport Country Playhouse's Family Festivities Series will present "The Mixed-Up Fairy Tale," combining storytelling, familiar fairy tale characters, and circus skills, on Sunday, November 20, for two performances, at 1 p.m., and 4 p.m.   Running time is approximately one hour.Produced by Page Turners' Adventures, a presentation of Theatreworks USA, the show is recommended for ages 4 to 8.  Tickets are $20. 

Westport Country Playhouse to Host Free Family Festivities Kick-Off Party

Westport Country Playhouse invites the community to a Family Festivities Kick-off Party on Sunday, November 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission-free and open to the public, the event will celebrate the Playhouse's upcoming 2016-17 Family Festivities Series, which begins on Sunday, November 20. The six-show series will feature musical productions based on classic and new children's stories.
