SDC, the theatrical union that unites, empowers, and protects professional stage directors and choreographers throughout the United States, announced at the Annual Membership Meeting that Pam Mackinnon has been elected SDC Executive Board President.

Outgoing SDC President Susan H. Schulman declared, "I am proud and confident to welcome Pam in her tenure as SDC President. I know she will be a fierce and innovative leader."

MacKinnon stated, "The SDC Executive Board is a highly motivated and smart group of directors and choreographers dedicated to serving the Membership and the field. I feel these are exciting times for the Union, as it continues to grow and be at the center of our community. I want to thank my predecessor Susan H. Schulman for her stewardship. I look forward to listening to, learning from, and advocating for the Membership and working with SDC's stellar staff and the tremendous Laura Penn."

In addition to MacKinnon, other re-elected incumbents are directors Anne Bogart, Mark Brokaw, Michael Wilson, and Evan Yionoulis, and director/choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge. Incumbent director Sharon Ott was re-elected to serve as Southeast Regional Representative, and incumbent director Meredith McDonough was re-elected to serve as Central Regional Representative. Newly elected to serve a three-year term At-Large are directors Walter Bobbie, Liz Diamond, Michael John Garcés, and Eric Ting.

Nominating Committee Chair Mark Lamos stated, "It has been an honor to serve as Chair of the Nominating Committee for the 2016 SDC Executive Board Election. It was an extremely competitive slate comprised of directors and choreographers representing the best of SDC from Broadway and across the country. Congratulations to our new and re-elected national At-Large Board Members and Regional Reps."

At the Membership Meeting, three long-time Board Members were also acknowledged for having completed their Board service: Julie Arenal, Paul Lazarus, and Susan H. Schulman.

Schulman stated, "I am most proud of the work that led to acknowledgment and coverage for our Members doing developmental work in the commercial sector. After years of hard work, we can now say that this important work directors and choreographers do is recognized across all jurisdictions. The ramifications of this achievement on the present and future livelihoods of our Members, through the contributions now made on their behalf to health and pension, will be great and far-reaching."
