As part of its new Building the Box Developmental Reading Series, Out of the Box Theatrics will present readings of SQUEAKY, a poignant autobiographical comedy by Drama Desk Award winner Jeff Cohen.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT PRODUCTIONS, the award-winning theatre company, offers it fifth show during the 2020 season at Theatre 80, 8th Street and 1st Avenue on Monday, December 21st, from 2:00 to 4:00pm.

During this time when productions all over the world have been put on pause, we are coming together to celebrate plays that have left their mark on theater history. This week we will be focusing on the plays of Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Tennessee Williams. Today's play, The Rose Tattoo! 

Mirage Theatre Company has commissioned New Dramatists playwright Melisa Tien to create 'Broken Dolls,' an original theater work about the trafficking of women. As part of its New Blood readings series, Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., will present a staged reading of the play, adapted and directed by June Prager, Mirage Theatre Company's Artistic Director, on October 21, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

Friends, colleagues, and students of the highly regarded and much loved actor, teacher, writer, and director E. Katherine Kerr will gather on Monday, September 30, 2019, at 6:00 P.M. at Playwrights Horizons Peter Jay Sharp Theater to celebrate her life.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the romantic comedy, "The Cemetery Club," on Monday, February 25, at 7 p.m.  Written by Ivan Menchell, the reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each. 

Theater for the New City has announced that due to popular demand they will be presenting Tony nominated theatre luminary Austin Pendleton's adaptation of Richard III, Shakespeare's greatest villain, WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III for three nights only December 3rd, 4th and 5th.

The play combines texts from William Shakespeare's Henry VI Part 3 and Richard III, to create a version, which has never been seen before. Produced by Ruth Stage, the production stars Pendleton as Henry VI and Matt de Rogatis as Richard III, while giving a fascinating take on one of history's most notorious villains. Palm Beach Dramaworks presents Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes. Considered by many to be Hellman's masterpiece, this classic play about greed and the path of destruction it leaves in it's wake is as timely now as when it was written in 1939.
