Acclaimed British director Ben Wheatley (Kill List, High Rise) has signed on to direct a new adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's classic, romantic, gothic thriller penned by screenwriter Jane Goldman (Kingsman series, X-Men: First Class). It tells the story of a newly-married young woman who, on arriving at her husband's imposing family estate on a bleak English coast, finds herself battling the shadow of his dead first wife, the mysterious Rebecca, whose legacy continues to haunt the house.

Hulu announced a 10-episode series order for Dollface, a new comedy from ABC Signature Studios. The new Hulu Original Series will star actress Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls), who is also set to executive produce the comedy alongside Creator and Writer Jordan Weiss (Harley Quinn) and Showrunner Ira Ungerleider. Additional executive producers include Margot Robbie, Brett Hedblom and Tom Ackerley for LuckyChap Entertainment; Bryan Unkeless and Scott Morgan for Clubhouse Pictures; Nicole King and Stephanie Laing (Vice Principals). Matt Spicer (Ingrid Goes West) will executive produce and direct the first episode.

The Donmar Warehouse today announces the extension due to exceptional demand of Measure for Measure, now booking performances until Saturday 1 December 2018. Friday 30 November will be a performance dedicated solely to YOUNG+FREE audiences aged 25 and under, enabling even more young audiences the opportunity to experience Shakespeare's exploration of sex and power. YOUNG+FREE is funded through the generosity of audiences via the Donmar's PAY IT FORWARD scheme. These donations have allowed the Donmar to allocate more than 12,000 free tickets to those aged 25 and under since the scheme began. Tickets to the YOUNG+FREE Friday performance will be allocated by ballot at the end of October. Malcolm McDowell has been cast as Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corp, in the upcoming film about Fox News' disgraced former chief Roger Ailes, according to Variety. The Annapurna drama about is about Ailes and the women who brought him down.

Vermont Shakespeare Festival's premiere of a new version of Friedrich Schiller's Mary Stuart features regional actresses Jena Necrason and Sorsha Anderson in the roles of Queen Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scots. It will be presented as a staged reading, the latest in the Salon series, on Saturday, October 6, 7:30 p.m. at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, and Sunday, October 7, 3 p.m. in the McCarthy Recital Hall at St. Michael's College. This production is a regional premiere of a rarely seen epic in a fresh new and lean adaptation; the film version opens in December 2018 starring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie.

Written by Henry Dunham who is also making his feature directorial debut, the film stars James Badge Dale (13 Hours), Chris Mulkey (Captain Phillips), Brian Geraghty (NBC's “Chicago P.D”.), Robert Aramayo (HBO's “Game of Thrones”), Patrick Fischler (Showtime's “Twin Peaks”), Happy Anderson (Cinemax's “The Knick”) and Gene Jones (The Hateful Eight). The Standoff at Sparrow Creek will make its world premiere at Midnight Madness at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.  RLJE plans to release the film nationally in theaters and on VOD and Digital HD in early 2019.
