Break into the harsh realities of modern life with Dance Currents interpretations and adaptations of Donald McKayle's Rainbow Etude (1996), David Parsons Parsons Etude (1999), Carla Maxwell's L m n Etude (2001-2) and Robert Battle's Battle Etude (2003).

Bringing this production to Boston with other events in its '25 & Dancing On' year, The Dance Complex strives to celebrate Greater Boston's rich dance history, and the vibrant, diverse dance community thriving both at its Cambridge headquarters and across the region.

The Dance Complex (TDC) continues to celebrate "25 & Dancing On!" with an amazing performance series titled Tiny and Short: A Drop in the Bucket, adapted this series from Ten Tiny Dances®, created in Portland, Oregon in 2002 and continues to be produced by founder Mike Barber and others, with permission.

Dance Currents, Inc. is presenting 'Drawn In' at Green Street Studios tonight, January 31 at 7:30 pm. The choreographers presenting pieces are: Kathy Hassinger, Margot Parsons, and Ali Smith. Dondre Taylor-Stewart, a former student at the Alvin Ailey School will perform Donald McKayle's 'Rainbow Etude.'

Dance Currents, Inc. is presenting "Drawn In" at Green Street Studios Saturday, January 31 at 7:30 pm. The choreographers presenting pieces are: Kathy Hassinger, Margot Parsons, and Ali Smith. The Dance Complex presents Some Times Together: Faculty & Friends a concert of diverse works by Dance Complex Teaching Artists and professional colleagues from Boston and beyond!

Ballet NY, founded in 1997 by Artistic Directors Medhi Bahiri and Judith Fugate, offered an opportunity to four emerging choreographers to work with classically trained dancers and present company premieres on April 16th at the Ailey Citi Group Theater.

Ballet NY presents its 2014 Season, including In the Garden of Souls, the company premieres of Kinderszenen, Dreams, and excerpts from Urban Study, from April 15-17, 2014 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street, NYC (at Ninth Avenue). The choreographers presenting pieces are: Audra Carabetta, Lorraine Chapman, Jennifer Cote', Kathy Hassinger, Kendra Heithoff Henseler, Anna Meyers, Margot Parsons, Nicole Pierce and Ali Smith. Premieres as well as time-honored dances will be shown.

"Next Steps", a fundraiser for Green Street Studios, will be presented by Dance Currents Inc. with Audra Carabetta, Lorraine Chapman, Jennifer Cote', Kathy Hassinger, Kendra Heithoff -Henseler, Anna Myer, Margot Parsons, Nicole Pierce, and Ali Smith as choreographers.

The Dance Complex offers Fall is Rising: Faculty & Friends as an Autumn offering, featuring many of its world renown faculty, with a variety of choreographic styles and genres represented. Performances will take place in the organization's Julie Ince Thompson Theatre at 536 Massachusetts Avenue, Central Square, Cambridge on October 18 and 19, 2013 at 8pm. The choreographers on the program have long associations with The Dance Complex, creating and teaching within its studios for 10, 15 or 20 years or more.

Dance Currents Inc. is presenting "Chaos or Connection: Living the Legacy of Modern Dance." This event is designed to pique your interest in the preservation, use and future adaptability of Modern Dance Repertory. We will be presenting scenes from a movie in the making, "Living the Legacy of Modern Dance," historical and current repertory and a panel discussion on the current and future state of Modern Dance.

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) welcomes two new faculty members to the Dance Department for the 2012-2013 school year. Beginning this September, Cathy Hazeltine Fallon, Instructor of Children's Dance and Ballet, and Jennifer Markham, Instructor of Ballet, will teach in Franklin and at the school's new satellite location in downtown Hudson. FSPA's Dance Department offers programs for all ages and levels in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, hip hop and lyrical, including classes specifically for boys, adults and beginner teens.

The Boston College Theatre Department continues the 30th anniversary season of the Robsham Theater Arts Center with Rising UP: A Dance Showcase.
