Franklin School for the Performing Arts Announces New Dance Faculty Members

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) welcomes two new faculty members to the Dance Department for the 2012-2013 school year. Beginning this September, Cathy Hazeltine Fallon, Instructor of Children's Dance and Ballet, and Jennifer Markham, Instructor of Ballet, will teach in Franklin and at the school's new satellite location in downtown Hudson. FSPA's Dance Department offers programs for all ages and levels in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, hip hop and lyrical, including classes specifically for boys, adults and beginner teens.

Cathy Hazeline Fallon danced as a member of the Skidmore Ballet, Garden State Ballet and the Kansas City Ballet. She performed as a Principal Dancer at the Santa Fe Opera and later studied and rehearsed with Twyla Tharp, Laura Dean, Martita Hoshen, Robin Becker and Joann Fregalette. She holds a bachelor's degree in Kinesthetic Education and Dance from State University of New York and is an AmSAT certified teacher of the Alexander Technique.

Jennifer Markham danced with the Albany Berkshire Ballet and has appeared in A Dancer's Christmas with the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble and various performances with the Margot Parsons Dance Company. She is earning her M.S. in Arts Administration from Boston University. Markham is certified in the American Ballet Theatre's National Training Curriculum for Primary through Level 3. She is on faculty for the Boston Ballet School and is the Children's Coordinator for Boston Ballet and a Children's Ballet Mistress for The Nutcracker.

Fallon and Markham join FSPA's Ballet faculty, including Ballet Mistress Cheryl Madeux Abbott, Clyde Nantais, Rilla Tolmie and Marina Van Winkle. Children's Ballet instructors include Tracy Durso and Casey Harkness Andrade. The Jazz faculty at FSPA includes Jenny Oliver, Frantz Louizia, Jr., Kellie Stamp, Durso and Harkness Andrade. FSPA Tap instructors are Charlie Holbrook, Stamp and Oliver. Instructor of Modern is Lorry May, with classes also taught by Oliver and Harkness Andrade. FSPA Assistant Director Tracy Lane is Coordinator of the Dance Department. Dorothy Beaton and Jan Smithers are Artistic Advisors.
