In preparation for Ford's Theatre Society and Signature Theatre's co-presentation of the Tony-winning musical HELLO, DOLLY!, which will be directed by Eric Schaeffer and runs March 15 through May 18, 2013 in Washington, D.C., The Washington Post conducted a series of interviews with those involved onstage and behind the scenes during the original Broadway production.

Another event, another packed house! DO40 presented its fourth annual Legacy Awards at their Holiday Dinner, this year again at the over-the-top LIPS restaurant in NYC. American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) will present a workshop presentation of four classic musical theater and film dance numbers today, November 14 at New York City Center, Studio 4 at 6 pm. Each piece has been coached by artists intimately involved in their original productions; numbers from CONTACT, JEROME ROBBINS' BROADWAY, LOVELY TO LOOK AT and BIG DEAL will be presented.

Each piece has been coached by artists intimately involved in their original productions; numbers from CONTACT, JEROME ROBBINS' BROADWAY, LOVELY TO LOOK AT and BIG DEAL will be presented.

Legendary Latin/jazz percussionist Jack 'Mr. Bongo' Costanzo has only performed twice in New York City in the last 60 years--once at Carnegie Hall in 1948 and once at the famed Basin Street East in 1961--but he'll make a rare NYC appearance October 30 at The Iridium to perform with cabaret favorite Terese Genecco & Her Little Big Band featuring Ricky Ritzel. Sets are at 8 & 10pm.

Dancers Over 40, the organization "dedicated to preserving the History, Legacy and Lives of our creative community, while sharing the knowledge with the younger generation just beginning their careers" will present a tribute to the great George Balanchine, and the incredibly talented group of performers who worked with the master during his tenure at New York City Ballet. The event will take place tonight, October 8th at 8 p.m. at St. Luke's Theater (308 West 46th Street).

This years Honorary Chairs include Lynn Sher, Barbara Goldsmith, Dava Sobel, David Baldacci, Robert Caro, Dick Cavett and founding co-chair Alec Baldwin.

Today, June 27th, The Santa Monica Library will host a signing with author, Patty Farmer, and special guest Barbrara Van Orden for 'THE PERSIAN ROOM PRESENTS.' Portions of the book sales benefit Childhelp.

Each piece has been coached by artists intimately involved in their original productions; numbers from Contact, A Chorus Line, Lovely to Look At and Jerome Robbins' Broadway will be presented. The evening will be directed by Artistic Director Margo Sappington and feature live music with musical direction by Tedd Firth. ADM21 is a new not-for-profit dance company founded by Executive Director Nikki Feirt Atkins, dedicated to creating a living and vibrant archive of classic and current notable musical theater choreography.

Yesterday, May 21, the Actor's Fund held its annual gala at the New York Marriott Marquis, honoring Tony and Emmy Award winning artist and activist Harry Belafonte, acting duo Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller, and real estate developer David Steiner. The stars were shining, including Chita Rivera, Marge Champion, Stephen Schwartz and more, in Flushing Meadows Corona Park Wednesday evening when Queens Theatre hosted its 2012 Gala Fundraiser, a star-studded celebration of the world premiere of HEAT WAVE: THE Jack Cole PROJECT, a new musical homage to legendary stage and screen choreographer Jack Cole. The event raised more than $150,000 for the theatre and its programs, including its educational and outreach programs that bring theatre and the arts to public school students. Patrons were treated to a classic trip down memory lane this week as four leading ladies of the legendary Persian Room New York came together for a book signing. Lainie Zazan, Michele Lee, Connie Stevens and Barbara Van Orden gathered at Barnes and Noble in California's The Grove to celebrate the release of Patty Farmer's new book "The Persian Room Presents." Anecdotes involving audience celebrity sightings included Barbara Streisand (by Stevens), Milton Berle (by Van Orden), Jack Jones and his thighs (by Lee) and a mob king who struck her while performing (by Kazan).
