Shakespeare & Company has debuted a brand-new beer garden on its Lenox campus, now open during the run of Romeo and Juliet, playing through August 10 at the Arthur S. Waldstein Amphitheatre.

WAM Theatre has announced casting for the first reading in their 2025 Fresh Takes Play Reading Series: Cry it Out by Molly Smith Metzler, directed by Molly Merrihew.

Many of the pieces provide laughs, some perspective. There is a bit of song, a bit of dance, absolutely no seltzer down any pants. Shakespeare & Company has announced its 34th annual Northeast Regional Tour of Shakespeare, which will bring the beloved romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet to over 50 schools and theatres throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey this spring.

The work of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, better known to us as Moliere, returns to the Rose Footprint Theatre (the Company produced Tartuffe on the Footprint last season) with a new adaptation of one of his sauciest plays, Les Faux Pas: or The Counter Plots. Director Jenna Ware, who also adapted the piece, pulls out all of the stops with this riotously funny play. Featuring a cast of 11 new-comers and Company favorites Jenne Jadow and Dana Harrison Les Faux Pas: or The Counter Plots kicks off the Bankside Festival. Press Opening is tonight, July 6 at 5:30PM.

With classic wordplay to delight the intellect, and on-stage farcical situations to provoke the belly laughs, THE LIAR at Shakespeaere & Company is welcome relief from the Winter storms in the currently dormant Berkshires of Massachusetts. It runs until March 24 in Lenox, MA.

Following last winter's wildly successful run of Molière's The Learned Ladies, a hilarious French farce will once again heat up the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre in February and March at Shakespeare & Company. This year, a talented ensemble of Company artists will take on award-winning playwright David Ives's (Venus in Fur, All in the Timing) razor sharp and rib-tickling adaptation of Pierre Corneille's classic farce, The Liar, running from February 1 through March 24. The production is directed by founding member Kevin G. Coleman, the critically acclaimed director of The Memory of Water (2011) and The Winter's Tale (2010), among many others.
