Due to a shift in the schedule of the creative team, the Sacred Fools Theater Company production of “The Art Couple” at Center Theatre Group’s Kirk Douglas Theatre has been cancelled.

Center Theatre Group has selected two local productions for the fourth annual Block Party: Celebrating Los Angeles Theatre at the Kirk Douglas Theatre from March 18 through April 19, 2020. Block Party 2020 will remount Sacred Fools Theater Company's a?oeThe Art Couplea?? and IAMA Theatre Company's a?oeCanyon.a?? The visiting companies will receive the full support of Center Theatre Group and its staff in order to fund, stage and market each production.

Casting is set for Antaeus Theatre Company's production of "Native Son," which Center Theatre Group is remounting at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of the third annual Block Party: Celebrating Los Angeles Theatre. Written by Nambi E. Kelley, based on the novel by Richard Wright and directed by Andi Chapman, "Native Son" will begin previews April 18, open April 20 and continue through April 28, 2019.

Casting is set for Theatre of NOTE's production of 'For The Love Of (or, the roller derby play),' which Center Theatre Group is remounting at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of the third annual Block Party: Celebrating Los Angeles Theatre. Written by Gina Femia and directed and choreographed by Rhonda Kohl, 'For The Love Of' will begin previews March 7, open March 9 and continue through March 17.

Written by Boni B. Alvarez and directed by Playwrights' Arena Artistic Director Jon Lawrence Rivera, "Bloodletting" will begin previews March 29, open March 31 and close April 8.

Center Theatre Group's Block Party continues with the opening of The Echo Theater Company production of 'Dry Land' at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.
