Skylight Music Theatre will offer free virtual performances of the newest edition of KidsWrites beginning April 18, 2022. This year's theme is Fun! and will be released on Skylight's website in four segments: Monday, April 18, Monday, April 25, Monday, May 2 and Monday, May 9.
For 21 years, Skylight Music Theatre teaching artists have led writing workshops for students in grades 3-8, inspiring them to create lyrics and dialogue based on a theme in a program called KidsWrites.
Astoria Performing Arts Center (Dev Bondarin, Artistic Director), in association with Teresa Lotz, presents six new musical shorts written in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Featuring the work of fifteen writers, six directors, and a large number of actors, the contributing artists joined the project in the early days of the crisis in the spirit of developing new work without being in the same room to do so.
