As BroadwayWorld reported this morning, Tony Award winner Laura Benanti will assume the role of Eliza Doolittle in its award-winning production of Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY, directed by Bartlett Sher, for a limited engagement beginning Tuesday, October 23 and currently scheduled through Sunday, February 17, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Lauren Ambrose, who originated the role in this production, will play her final performance on Sunday, October 21st before leaving to begin work on M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming Apple series.

The DC premiere of British playwright Lucy Kirkwood's urgent and unsettling eco-thriller The Children rounds out Studio Theatre's Main Series for its 40th Anniversary Season. Directed by Studio Artistic Director David Muse, The Children deepens his relationship with Kirkwood's work-he directed the DC premiere of her play Chimerica in 2015. Inspired in part by the 2011 Fukushima nuclear explosion in Japan, Kirkwood's disaster drama begins as an old love triangle flaring to life in the aftermath of a natural disaster and morphs into a disquieting look at the cataclysmic impact of human intervention in the natural world.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced full casting for the new Broadway production of Sam Shepard's TRUE WEST, directed by James Macdonald, starring acclaimed screen and stage actors Ethan Hawke as "Lee" and Paul Dano as "Austin." Marylouise Burke and Gary Wilmes join the cast as "Mom" and "Saul Kimmer."

With the original run and first extension completely sold out, Steep Theatre is extending the run of Penelope Skinner's Linda through September 15. Tickets for these eight additional performances will go on sale at noon on Thursday, August 16, and they're expected to sell very quickly.

Los Altos Stage Company proudly pulls out all the stops for the South Bay Premiere production of Matthew Lopez's sparkling The Legend of Georgia McBride. English Touring Theatre today announces the full cast for the upcoming revival of Richard Twyman's critically acclaimed production of Othello, a co-production with Oxford Playhouse and Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory. Richard Twyman directs Kitty Archer (Desdemona), Philip Correia (Cassio), Naby Dakhli (Montano), James Ellis (Duke), James Godden (Soldier/Senator), Paul McEwan (Iago) Victor Oshin (Othello) and Kelly Price (Emilia) joining returning cast members Chris Bianchi (Brabantio), Hayat Kamille (Bianca), Brian Lonsdale (Roderigo) and John Sandeman (Lodovico).

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is presenting In Conversation: Jason Alexander, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 7:30PM.  This event will give audiences a behind-the-curtain look at Native Gardens, a new comedy by Karen Zacarias and directed by Mr. Alexander that will be performed at the Playhouse September 5 through 30.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) announced today casting for Lynn Nottage's 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Sweat, performing at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary St., San Francisco) September 26-October 21, 2018.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces casting for the world premiere of The Steadfast Tin Soldier: A Christmas Pantomime, from the story by Hans Christian Andersen, conceived and directed by Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman. This family-friendly, holiday show runs November 7, 2018 - January 13, 2019 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. 

After a successful run at the National Black Theatre in Harlem, Kill Move Paradise makes its Philadelphia premiere at The Wilma Theater. Written by award-winning local playwright and HotHouse Affiliated Artist James Ijames, Kill Move Paradise follows Isa, Grif, Daz, and Tiny as they find themselves in an afterlife.

In honor of Artistic Director Michael Kahn's final season with the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), the opening show of the 2018-2019 Season, William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, will feature beloved performers, many of whom have been with the Company since the very beginning.
