Thrown Stone Announces Casting For 2018 Repertory Season

New English Translation of Wilde's SALOME Comes to Irondale

M-34 proudly presents the world premiere of director James Rutherford's new English translation of Oscar Wilde's SALOME, running August 25 - September 15, 2018 in a limited engagement at Irondale, Brooklyn's theatrical think-tank that fosters creativity. Irondale is located at 85 South Oxford Street between Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue.

CYRANO, Starring Peter Dinklage, Begins Run at Goodspeed Musicals

Casting of Goodspeed Musicals' Cyrano is complete. Film and TV actor Blake Jenner will play Christian. He joins previously announced Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage, who will play Cyrano alongside film actress Haley Bennett as Roxanne in this bold new musical.

Casting Announced For THE OTHER PLACE At Park Theatre

Casting has been confirmed for the UK Premiere of psychological thriller, The Other Place, in which a brilliant neurologist descends into disorientation. Directed by Claire van Kampen and written by Sharr White, the cast includes Karen Archer, Eliza Collings, Okon Jones and Rupinder Nagra.

LINDA Extends Through September 1 At Steep Theatre

Lookingglass Theatre Company Announces The Second Extension Of 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEAS

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces an extension of 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas adapted by David Kersnar and Althos Low, from the books by Jules Verne, directed by Ensemble Member David Kersnar. Due to high ticket demand, additional dates, August 30 - September 9, 2018, have been added. 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas plays at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. This marks the second and final extension of the production.

World Premiere Of THE NICETIES Explores Race, Power In Academia

After developmental productions that drew high praise from prominent theatre critics, and left audiences alternately speechless and effusive, engaged and enraged, the Huntington Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Eleanor Burgess's explosive new play, The Niceties, running August 31 to October 6 at the South End/Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. The Huntington is pleased to produce the play in association with two other leading theatre companies. The production will move Off Broadway to Manhattan Theatre Club immediately following the Boston run, and then continue on to Princeton, NJ for performances at McCarter Theatre Center.  

Berkeley Rep Announces Final Casting For A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced final casting for A Doll's House, Part 2, written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters, which begins previews on Thursday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, October 21. Individual tickets begin at $30 ($15 if you're under 35) and can be purchased online at berkeleyrep.org or by phone at 510 647-2949 beginning August 12, 2018. Subscription tickets are available now. Press night of this first show of Berkeley Rep's 50th anniversary season will be on Thursday, September 13.

Irish Play CHAPATTI Opens At Vermont's Saint Michael's Playhouse

Saint Michael's Playhouse announces the area premiere of Irish playwright Christian O'Reilly's play Chapatti opening Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Evening performances are July 18 - 21, 24 - 28 (8pm), with matinee performances July 21 and 28 (2pm).

The New York Musical Festival Announces Scott Pyne As New Executive Director

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today that Scott Pyne will become Executive Director at NYMF beginning this September. Pyne succeeds current Executive Director Dan Markley, who has been with NYMF since 2013 and will depart the company following this year's festival. Under its new structure, Scott will be co-leading NYMF with Producing Artistic Director Rachel Sussman.

Florida Studio Theatre Announces New Summer Play Reading Workshops

Following a well-received Sarasota Festival of New Plays this past spring, Florida Studio Theatre (FST) announces an addition to its New Play Development program. Three new works will be staged throughout the month of August featuring some of the latest work by George Brant, Barry Harman and Keith Herrmann, and Sandy Rustin. "Good comedies with exciting stories are hard to find and we have found three well-crafted tales from various eras, points of view, and comedic angles," shared FST Associate Artist Catherine Randazzo. Talkbacks will follow each reading, giving audiences the chance to engage with each piece more deeply, while also giving playwrights valuable feedback. These readings are free and open to the public, though reservations are required.

EQUIVOCATION By Bill Cain Opens In Redwood City Next Week

Set in 1606 England, King James's righthand man Robert Cecil commissions William Shagspeare to write the "true historie" of Guy Fawkes' infamous Gunpowder Plot. As Shag investigates the story, he discovers that the government's version might be less than truthful. Should he take the money and write a propaganda piece - or risk losing the theatre and perhaps even his head? An entertaining tribute to art, politics, and the perils of negotiating both, Equivocation is a high-stakes political comedy with contemporary resonances.
