Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) announces a $950,000 gift from the Robina Foundation in support of the Yale Center for New Theatre.

Theatermakers, the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Theater Institute summer program, returns this season with its free weekly performance series. On Tuesdays at 8 pm, June 29 through July 27, Theatermakers students will present three original one-act plays created within an intensive period of development. Each week's set of plays will follow a given theme or prompt, such as Dream Play, Adaptations, Modern Greek Tragedy.

The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE (Mark Brokaw, Artistic Director; Beth Morrison, Producer) will select three original music theatre works to receive two-week workshops in New Haven June 13-27, 2010. Submissions will be accepted November 1, 2009 through January 11, 2010.

The Studio Theatre has announced their 2010-2011 season. English playwright David Hare has selected blu by Virginia Grise as the 2010 winner of the annual Yale Drama Series competition. The runners-up are Siona MacDuff by Mary Hamilton and Nineteen Kinds of Peril by Tom Lavignino.

The American Theatre Wing has announced the recipients of the 2010 Jonathan Larson® Grants. The grants, given annually to honor emerging composers, lyricists and book writers, help to continue Tony Award®-winning composer Jonathan Larson's dream of infusing musical theatre with a contemporary, joyful, urban vitality. After considering 165 applications, Peter Lerman, Daniel Mate, and songwriting team Michael Kooman (music) and Christopher Dimond (book & lyrics) were selected to receive the prestigious grants, totaling $10,000. They will be honored at a presentation on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Touch (240 W52 St.) in New York City.
