SDCF Announces Kamilah Forbes as 2020 Zelda Fichandler Award Recipient

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation has announced the recipient and three finalists for the annual Zelda Fichandler Award. The Fichandler Award recognizes directors and choreographers who have demonstrated great accomplishment to-date with singular creativity and deep investment in a particular community or region.

MARIE AND ROSETTA Comes To The Hippodrome Theatre

The Hippodrome Theatre is proud to bring MARIE AND ROSETTA to the stage! After a successful run at freeFall Theatre in St. Petersburg, this incredible production moves up to Gainesville, FL to run February 28 through March 22.

MARIE & ROSETTA Comes to FreeFall

freeFall Theatre in St. Petersburg and The Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville have joined forces to co-present MARIE & ROSETTA opening January 18 and closing February 16. freeFall will then transfer the production to The Hippodrome for performances at their venue opening on February 28 and running through March 22.

Florida Professional Theatre Companies Join Forces For Exciting Co-Productions

freeFall Theatre in St. Petersburg, FL and The Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville, FL have joined forces to co-present two productions in their 2019/2020 season. freeFall will present MARIE & ROSETTA opening  January 18 and Hippodrome will present LONE STAR SPIRITS opening January 24. The company will then transfer the productions to their respective spaces after the initial run of each show. Both shows will run a combined total of over 8 weeks.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts will Present A RAISIN IN THE SUN

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts announced this year's Literature Live! production of A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry; directed by Lydia Fort. The show starts November 14 and runs through December 1. This classic work from the American Theater is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary of the play's first production on Broadway.

Bay Street Theater Announces Matching Grant For Literature Live!

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the eleventh year of the Literature Live! program. This year's Literature Live! production will be Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, directed by Lydia Fort. Bay Street Theater is proud to present this classic work from the American Theater to both students and the general public in this, the sixtieth anniversary of the play's first production on Broadway. Public performances are Thursday-Saturday, November 14-16, 21-23 and Thanksgiving weekend Fridaya?"Sunday, November 29a?"December 1. Cast Announced for August Wilson Rep at Cygnet Theatre

This fall, Cygnet Theatre will present the San Diego artistic debut of Washington D.C. Director Jennifer L. Nelson. The Kennedy Center to Host 10th Annual MFA Playwrights' Workshop This Summer

The Kennedy Center, in association with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, the National New Play Network (NNPN)-the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays-and with Stanford University's National Center for New Plays, will host more than 50 playwrights, directors, and dramaturgs from July 25 to August 2, 2015 as part of the 10th annual weeklong MFA Playwrights' Workshop featuring new works by MFA students from Columbia University, Northwestern University, Fordham University, Yale School of Drama, the Juilliard School, New York University-Tisch School of the Arts, University of California-San Diego, and the Juilliard School.
