Borderlands Theater Presents BUILDING THE WALL

A famous playwright's play that just opened in New York this summer is coming to Tucson's internationally recognized Borderlands Theater. And you would have a difficult time finding a bigger name than the author, Robert Schenkkan, who has won a Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize.

Single Tickets Now On Sale for The Public Theater's 2017-18 Fall Season

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced that single tickets are available now for The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street. Victory Gardens Theater, in collaboration with Alphawood Gallery, presents the reading series Resisting Injustice: Two Play Readings about the Incarceration of Japanese Americans in World War II, featuring Question 27, Question 28 and Hold These Truths as part of Alphawood Gallery's first original exhibition Then They Came for Me: Incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII and the Demise of Civil Liberties.

Greenhouse Theater Center Announces MC-10 PLAYWRIGHTS ENSEMBLE

Greenhouse Theater Center (GTC) and Artistic Director Jacob Harvey are pleased to announce the formation of the new MC-10 Playwrights Ensemble, a collection of ten of the country's most sought-after established and mid-career Chicago playwrights and theatre-makers. The ensemble will be in residence at the Greenhouse Theater Center and will create new works for its stages. Beginning with the 2018-19 season, the Greenhouse will present one play per season by MC-10 member playwrights, eventually expanding to two MC-10 productions per season. These world and regional premieres aim to expand the scope, diversity and visibility of work happening at the Greenhouse and underscore the institution's commitment to creating new vital works for the American theatrical canon.

American Conservatory Theater Announces Recipients of ArtShare for 2017–18 Season

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Associate Artistic Director Andy Donald announced today the recipients of ArtShare, A.C.T.'s community space-sharing initiative, for the 2017-18 season. Created in 2012, the community space-sharing initiative provides free performance space for small and mid-sized companies without permanent performance space, as well as for independent artists, who would benefit from being in residence at one of A.C.T.'s spaces in the Central Market area. These spaces include The Costume Shop (1117 Market St.)-A.C.T.'s 49-seat black-box venue-and The Rueff, a multi-use event and performance space located at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater (1127 Market St.). The 2017-18 season of ArtShare is made possible by generous support from the Kenneth Rainin Foundation and the Zellerbach Family Foundation.

Hero Theatre NYC Fornes Festival Directors Announced

Hero Theatre announced today that Lileana Blain-Cruz, Alice Reagan, Laurie Woolery, David Mendizabal and Lou Moreno have joined the roster of directors for their program Festival Irene: Celebrating the Legacy of Maria Irene Fornes, which will transfer to NYC this fall after a successful run in Los Angeles.
