The historic Royal Theatre in Downtown Benton is preparing for its 2022-2023 season. This 29th season for The Royal Players is filled with an eclectic group of musicals ranging from a retelling of an iconic literary tale, a musical theater classic, and a Disney favorite, just to name a few.

NextStop Theatre Company has announced their tenth professional season of theater in Northern Virginia. The company's first full season since the start of the pandemic will feature a wide assortment of titles ranging from beloved classics to bold new area premieres.

OVO will present Stephanie Allison's and Amy Connery's smartly paced, fresh approach to Louisa May Alcott's classic coming-of-age 1868 novel at the Roman Theatre in August. 

Kensington and Chelsea Festival announces the full theatre programme, celebrating creativity and culture for everyone this summer. Finborourgh Theatre, The Chelsea Theatre, The Cornonet, Shakespeare's Globe and The Playground Theatre top the eclectic bill which animates the borough's well-known and less-discovered spaces over the summer months. The Festival showcases exceptional emerging and established artists across more than 60  multi-disciplinary shows and events. 

A beloved story has been adapted for the stage and for the whole family at the Stratford Festival this season and it had its world premiere last Thursday night. Playwright Jordi Mand's LITTLE WOMEN--based on the novels Little Women and Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott is being brought to life on stage by Director Esther Jun and a fabulous company. Though this is part of the Schulich Children’s Plays programming, there is a kind of combined accessibility and maturity to this production that will allow it to be enjoyed by everyone.

Buck Creek Players is set to complete its 48th season with a production of LITTLE WOMEN on the mainstage. Nine live in-person performances will run at the playhouse starting on Friday, June 3rd and running through Sunday, June 19th. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $18 for seniors and students. Jo March isn't what you call your typical prim and proper Victorian lady. She's rebellious, opinionated, and certainly isn't afraid to speak her mind. As she and her sisters grow up in the middle of the Civil War, they strive to be brave, intelligent, and imaginative young women. But the world around them has other plans. While Jo aspires to become a great American novelist, her sisters-Beth, Meg, and Amy-also tend to their private dreams while juggling society's expectations of them. Based on Louisa May Alcott's famous coming-of-age story, this new adaptation by Kate Hamill is filled with the heart, spunk, and beautiful imperfection that makes the March sisters and their story such a timeless classic.

First Stage has announced their 2022/23 season. The full season kicks off in October at the Marcus Center’s Todd Wehr Theater with the fun world premiere musical ARTHUR AND FRIENDS MAKE A MUSICAL! written by First Stage Resident Playwright John Maclay (THE LEGEND OF ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS), with music and lyrics by Brett Ryback.

As theater continues to recover from the pandemic interruption, First Folio Theatre has announced its 2022-2023 season. The final season begins with a classic farce: JEEVES INTERVENES by Margaret Raether based on the works of P.G. Wodehouse, which runs November 5 through December 4, 2022.

Augustana University Theatre patrons are in for a delightful treat this weekend with Little Women The Musical at Edith Mortenson Center Theatre. Everything about this show is a pleasure.
