World Choreography Institute, a new organization directed by Wendy Taucher, is holding its Inaugural Year Think Tank on Martha's Vineyard, at the Noepe Center for Literary Arts from May 23 to May 28, 2013. World Choreography Institute is dedicated to 'advocacy and education for the art of choreography'. The vision of this unique organization is deliberately cross-genre, dealing with choreographic principals and challenges that are common to all live dance vocabularies, from ballet to modern to Broadway and beyond. The theme for the inaugural year is 'defining choreography'. Seeking to propel thoughtful, creative dialogue and action which advances creativity in the field, WCI is creating workshops, seminars and lecture demonstrations geared to three groups: professionals in the dance world, students and the general public. The design of these activities will be based on the thinking and input of the Inaugural Year Think Tank participants. In addition, the WCI team will publish its first annual Choreography Folio in early 2014, with on-line and print versions created under the umbrella of Arts & Ideas, Patrick Phillips publisher.
Rosie's Theater Kids (RTKids) will present "Passing It On: An Evening of Mentorship"to Benefit Rosie's Theater Kids at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater on April 23, 2013 at 7pm. This year's event will honor RTKids Board member and mentor Rosemary Kalikow, whose tremendous support and dedication has helped everyone at RTKids.
Rosie's Theater Kids (RTKids), New York City-based non-profit organization founded by Rosie O'Donnell, is thrilled to announce the release of its original song, "Sing My Own Way," now available on iTunes. It was recently performed live by the students at Rosie's annual Building Dreams for Kids Gala in October, which raised over $900,000 for the organization. Founder Rosie O'Donnell says, "I know what it's liked to be saved by a school. By a Sondheim song. By a cast of people who understand that being different is your biggest strength in life. That's Rosie's Theater Kids."
On Tuesday, March 27th, Rosie's Theater Kids held an event called 'Passing It On,' where the Kids performed a show which they learned in tandem with mega mentors like Audra McDonald, BD Wong, Brandon Victor Dixon, Dana Moore, and Derick K Grant, among others.
On Tuesday, March 27th, B.D. Wong will host "Passing It On: An Evening of Mentorship to Benefit Rosie's Theater Kids." The event, which will take place at 7pm at Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, will feature Audra McDonald (on pre-taped video), Derick Grant, Zakya Young and Brandon Victor Dixon.
The Junior Board of Rosie's Theater Kids will present A Night at the Vault Benefit Gala at The Vault at Pfaff's on Tuesday, June 21 at 8pm. Honorary Hosts will also include Project Runway's Christian Siriano, Leslie Ziff and Nyasha Zimucha.
Rosie's Theater Kids will feature an evening with Broadway's brightest, including: Stephanie Gibson Chase (Addams Family), Katie Rose-Clarke (Wicked), Jeffry & Erin Denman (Yank! & 42nd Street), Victoria Matlock (Million Dollar Quartet), Aleks Pevec (Catch Me If You Can), Jason Michael Snow (The Book of Mormon), and Willis White (In The Heights) and more.
Rosie's Theater Kids is seeking an original musical for production in the summer of 2011. The selected musical will be given a full production at the Maravel Arts Center in Midtown Manhattan and will be performed by the scholarship students in the program.

Rosie's Broadway Kids, an educational organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts, is launching Stepping Out With Rosie's Broadway Kids, a half-day program that enables high school students to experience the razzle dazzle of the Great White Way.
Rosie's Broadway Kids officially celebrated its new home on Monday January 26th as the Maravel Arts Center had a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the re-modeled facility to the press. Located in the heart of the Broadway community, on 45th Street, Rosie O'Donnell's 'Rosie's For All Kids Foundation will now have two dance studios, a music studio, library, dressing rooms and much more in its new location.
Rosie's Kids provided the entertainment at the event, which drew such starry guest as Chita Rivera, Linda Dano and Broadway couple Orfeh and Andy Karl. One of many highlights was the 'Kids' performing Arthur Schwartz's classic tune 'Rhode Island Is Famous for You'-but they changed the words to 'Long Island' for Rosie, which the crowd just loved.
The Maravel Arts Center is named for O'Donnell's teacher, Pat Maravel, who she said was an 'inspirational force' in her formative years.

A chorus of young performers from Rosie's Broadway Kids, an arts education organization created by Rosie O'Donnell which enriches the lives of children through the arts, will make their professional New York City stage debuts in the upcoming productions of Brundibar and Comedy on the Bridge at The New Victory Theater.
