Amas Musical Theatre Inaugurates The Eric H. Weinberger Award For Emerging Librettists

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) today announced the inauguration of The Eric H. Weinberger Award for Emerging Librettists, a juried cash and production grant to be given annually to support the early work and career of a deserving musical theatre librettist. It commemorates the life and work of playwright/librettist Eric H. Weinberger (1950-2017), who was a Drama Desk Award nominee for Best Book of a Musical (Wanda's World), and the playwright/librettist of Class Mothers '68, which earned Pricilla Lopez a Drama Desk Award nomination.

Amas Musical Theatre/Amas Song Salon To Present 'The Art Of Managing A Career In The Theatre' With N'Kenge

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) and The Amas Song Salon will offer a special event as part of the company's celebratory 50th Anniversary Season. 'The Art of Managing a Career in the Theatre' with actress/singer/producer N'Kenge (Motown), will be held on Monday, September 24 in a spectacular, sky-high penthouse on Central Park West. The evening will begin at 6pm with cocktails and supper, followed by the presentation at 7:30pm. Tickets are $150 (tax deductible as allowed law) and may be purchased online at www.amasmusical.org or by calling 212-563-2565. This is a one-time event and the seating is limited.

Clarke Thorell Joins the Cast of MY FAIR LADY June 26

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Clarke Thorell will assume the role of Zoltan Karparthy in its award-winning production of Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY beginning Tuesday, June 26 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Manu Narayan, who originated the role in the production, will play his final performance on Sunday, June 24.

Amas Musical Theatre's (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy will present Jesus Christ Superstar, a Rock Opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.  The story is loosely based on the Gospels' accounts of the last week of Jesus's life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ending with the crucifixion.

Scott Sanders Productions announced today that the world premiere of the new comedy musical, TOOTSIE, will play a pre-Broadway engagement this fall at Broadway In Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL) from September 11 October 14.
