LIZZIE the Musical Comes to London at Southwark Playhouse Elephant in October

Punk rock musical LIZZIE is based on the infamous murder case of Lizzie Borden, who in the summer of 1892 was accused of brutally murdering her father and stepmother with an axe in Fall River, Massachusetts. The musical comes to Southwark Playhouse Elephant Thursday 26 October to Saturday 2 December.

After nearly 100 independent productions in ten countries across four continents in six languages, “LIZZIE” the Musical, by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, Tim Maner, and Alan Stevens Hewitt, has been picked up by Broadway Licensing.

CARBONELL AWARDS Previews Ceremony At Lauderhill Performing Arts Center Next Month

For its first in-person ceremony since April 2019, the Carbonell Awards—South Florida's Theater & Arts Honors—promises “a truly joyous celebration packed with music, laughter and applause as we recognize talented members of our theater community for shows produced in Broward, Miami/Dade and Palm Beach Counties during the 2021-2022 season,” according to Carbonell Board President Gary Schweikhart.

West 56th Street Between 6th & 7th Avenues to be Renamed 'Wynn Handman Way'

City Councilman Keith Powers, former Mayor Bill DeBlasio, former acting students of Wynn Handman and maybe a star or two will gather Monday, September 12 at 11:00 AM on the southeast corner of 7th Avenue and 56th Street for the naming of West 56th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues as Wynn Handman Way.

IMMENSE JOY by Anna Kohler to be Presented at The Tank in September

The Tank will present Immense Joy, a new work devised and directed by downtown luminary Anna Kohler in collaboration with performers Natalia de Campos, Justin Gordon, John Hagan, Fabio Tavares, and associate director Caleb Hammond. The performances run from September 8 through 18, 2022.

Hudson Theatre Works Presents CURSE OF THE STARVING CLASS in May

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Sam Shepard's deeply unsettling, darkly funny family melodrama Curse of the Starving Class beginning May 5 centering on a family in a dire financial and emotional state, the play highlights the darker elements in the pursuit of the American dream. Disclaimer: Curse is recommended for mature audiences.

Yale Repertory Theatre to Present BETWEEN TWO KNEES

Yale Repertory Theatre will conclude its 2022 season with Between Two Knees. The play, written by the intertribal sketch comedy troupe The 1491s and directed by Eric Ting, is presented with Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Between Two Knees will be performed May 12–June 4 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street).
