A cast of eighteen singing and dancing toys… a loveable Toymaker and his young apprentice… a dastardly team of entrepreneurial villains… and an army of more than one hundred toy soldiers! The Little Orchestra Society presents a rollicking update of Victor Herbert's 1903 holiday extravaganza, BABES IN TOYLAND, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. James Judd guest conducts the original Herbert score (with some updated lyrics) as vibrant toys come to life to save a run-down toy store from extinction by an evil villain, and to remind us of the true value of friendship, teamwork, helping others, and the power of holiday spirit. The production is directed by John Henry Davis and freshly choreographed by Peggy Hickey. Take a trip to Toyland for the holidays!

Percussion is everywhere in The Little Orchestra Society's (LOS) Lolli-Pops™ concert, Things That Go Bang! Enter a musical kitchen where Bang the Lion and Buzz the Bee cook up a rhythmic feast and teach kids that everyday household objects can make anyone a percussionist. The concert features music by Bizet, Britten, Gershwin, Ginastera, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky and more.

The Little Orchestra Society (The LOS) inaugurates the 2012-2013 season with an audience favorite from its acclaimed Lolli-Pops™ series, The Orchestra - A Happy Family. Performances will take place on Saturday October 27 at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and Sunday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68th St. between Park and Lexington Aves.). The musicians of The LOS, led by guest conductor Philip Mann and joined by the colorful Lolli-Pops™ characters, introduce their musical families to yours, where the drums Bang, the strings Bow, the brass Buzz and the winds Toot.

The Diva and the Baritone, stars Metropolitan Opera baritone Theodore Lambrinos and his singing partner and wife, international operatic soprano Hallie Neill. Elliot Finkel, a concert pianist with the chops of a Broadway musical director wrote the arrangements to showcase the couple's amazing vocal talents in a charming mix of Broadway, opera and the best of the Great American songbook.

A roster of talented guest conductors will lead The LOS' Happy Concerts and Lolli-Pops™ series. Highlights include: Victor Herbert's Babes in Toyland; New York Times best-selling author and illustrator Peter H. Reynolds in a new production, The Magical Musical Pencil; iconic National Book Award-winner, rock musician and poet Patti Smith narrating her childhood favorite, Tubby the Tuba; and the New York premiere of Disney Fantasia Live in Concert, combining the animation from the 1940 and 2000 films with live orchestral performance.

A twenty-foot-long magic dragon, a fifteen-foot-tall fairy godmother, and an ensemble of dancers and puppeteers will burst from the stage of Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall as The Little Orchestra Society presents Cinderella and the Prince Who Slays the Magic Dragon on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.

The simple, classic delights of childhood - spinning tops, bouncing balls, rocking horses, and talking animals - will reveal the delights of music at The Little Orchestra Society's next LOLLI-POPS™ CONCERTS: A MUSICAL TOY STORE, Saturday, March 3, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and Sunday, March 4, at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Sunday, January 29 at 2:00pm at the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Philharmonic will present violinist Deborah Buck-concertmaster of the Brooklyn Phil since 2007-in recital with pianist Molly Morkoski.

The Little Orchestra Society's 2011-2012 season finale will be PETER AND THE WOLF: Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and Sunday, April 22, at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
