Oskar Eustis To Receive SDCF's First Gordon Davidson Award

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) has named Oskar Eustis as the first recipient of its new honor, The Gordon Davidson Award, which will be bestowed annually by SDCF to recognize a director or choreographer for lifetime achievement and distinguished service in the regional theatre nationally. The presentation of the award will take place on Saturday, September 22, at the Center Theatre Group's Annex/ Gordon Davidson Rehearsal Hall, in a by-invitation-only event.

Center Theatre Group's Production Of SWEAT Opens At The Mark Taper Forum

Center Theatre Group's production of "Sweat" by Lynn Nottage will open at the Mark Taper Forum on Wednesday, September 5 at 8 p.m. Directed by Lisa Peterson, the 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning play is currently in previews and continues through October 7, 2018.

Trinity Rep To Receive Grant From Rhode Island Foundation

Trinity Rep has received a $255,000 multi-year grant from the Rhode Island Foundation to support the implementation of its new, three-year strategic plan, which calls for doubling the number of new subscribers by 2020 and broadening its marketing and offerings to attract a more diverse audience.

Trinity Rep announces tickets to A Christmas Carol will go on sale Wednesday, July 25, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am. To celebrate the production, a limited engagement flash sale will offer patrons $4 off adult tickets to non-peak performances purchased July 25 - July 29 using code ACCFLASH. Last year's production was the highest selling show in the company's history and many performances sold out.

Trinity Rep Announces its 2018-19 Sensory Friendly Series

In support of its commitment to theater for all, Trinity Repertory Company announces a series of moderately-adjusted performances of shows in the 2018-19 Season to meet the needs of audience members with autism and/or with sensory-processing disorders. Sensory-friendly performances will be identical to other performances of the run, but will feature a lantern placed discretely in the theater to let patrons know when a loud sound or intense lighting cue (such as strobe lights) is about to play, giving them the chance to close their eyes or block their ears. Tickets to Trinity Rep's sensory-friendly performances can be purchased as a subscription starting at $114 for all six plays or starting at $25 for single productions. Subscriptions are available now and non-subscription tickets will go on sale August 14, 2018.

Raul Esparza, Alice Ripley, and More Announced for Vassar's Powerhouse Season

Vassar & New York Stage and Film have announced the next wave of casting for the highly anticipated 34th Powerhouse Season in Poughkeepsie, NY, which starts this Friday, June 22 and runs through Sunday, July 29. Actors joining the annual summer play development incubator include Tony Award nominee Raul Esparza, Tony Award winner Alice Ripley, Tony Award nominee Denee Benton, Tony Award nominee Lauren Worsham, Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman, Noah Galvin, Frankie J. RHINOCEROS Closes A.C.T.'s 2018­–19 Season

Incoming American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Pam MacKinnon announced today that Eugene Ionesco's RHINOCEROS-translated by Derek Prouse and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Frank Galati-will be the final production of A.C.T.'s 2018-19 season.

Pocket Universe Presents THE MAID'S TRAGEDY At Access Theatre

Pocket Universe, producer of last summer's acclaimed Julius Caesar set in an all-girls high school, has announced a new production of Francis Beaumont & John Fletcher's THE MAID'S TRAGEDY, set in present-day Hollywood.
