Berkeley Symphony, led by Music Director Joseph Young, will open the 2024–25 Symphonic Series with Stories From Home on Sunday, November 10 at 4 p.m. at Zellerbach Hall.

Berkeley Symphony has announced its 2024–25 season, led by Music Director Joseph Young. Across eight dynamic programs (four Symphonic Series performances and four Chamber Series performances), the historic institution will highlight the music of movement and hope, celebrating both the classical canon and emerging contemporary voices.

Berkeley Symphony will continue its Chamber Series with Play On Words on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Piedmont Center for the Arts.

Berkeley Symphony has announced its 2023-24 Season, led by Music Director Joseph Young, who is now in his fifth season with the historic organization. With four Symphonic Series performances and five Chamber Series performances, Berkeley Symphony will present a range of impactful programming that spans the expansive catalog of orchestral music.

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) and the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation have partnered to provide the opportunity for Dr. Indre Viskontas—an opera singer, neuroscientist, and professor—to publish her white paper demonstrating the measurable benefit that music has on children and child brain development.

Usher House, with a libretto by the composer after Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher, features conductor Lawrence Foster leading the Orquestra Gulbenkian, with singers Christian Elsner, Etienne Dupuis, Phillip Ens, Lisa Delan, and special guest actor Benedict Cumberbatch. Poe's quintessential gothic tale loosely serves as the basis for Gordon Getty's opera.

On July 20th, 2020, composer Gordon Getty's new opera Goodbye, Mr. Chips would have had its world premiere at Festival Napa Valley. But like so many other events, it became a casualty of COVID. 

Boston Landmarks Orchestra is just one of eighteen orchestras and youth orchestras to receive grants of $30,000 each to spark a culture of innovation and learning in U.S. orchestras. Created by the League of American Orchestras to support a variety of forward-thinking and experimental projects, the two-year American Orchestras' Futures Fund grants, made possible by the generous support of the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation, focus on artistic vibrancy, civic engagement, and organizational vitality.

On Thursday, June 11, at 7:00 p.m. (EDT) the Young People's Chorus of New York City under the direction of Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will present a digital spring concert, a?oeFORWARD TOGETHER.a?? Driven by its commitment to meet where the children are and move forward together to create an authentic and artistic expression, YPC's annual spring concert will proceed as a special digital viewing event that features favorite works from the season, plus several world premieres.

Thanks to the generosity and consideration of the Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation, OPERA America, the national advocate and service organization for opera, has announced a dues waiver for fiscal year 2021 for all current organizational members and individual artists.

Young People's Chorus of New York City® (YPC), led by Founder and Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, will return to Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. for the chorus' 32nd annual Gala Concert, this year in honor of composer and philanthropist Gordon Getty. Hosted by multiple Grammy Award-winning artist Jason Mraz, the event recognizes Mr. Getty as a YPC Legacy Honoree for his shared commitment to and efforts on behalf of making music education accessible to young people of all backgrounds.
