Connie Britton has been cast to play Beth Ailes, the wife of late Fox News chief Roger Ailes, in the upcoming Fox News drama film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today the start of production in Atlanta of the new multigenerational family saga “Ambitions,” produced by Will Packer Media in association with Lionsgate and Lionsgate-owned distributor Debmar-Mercury, and starring Robin Givens (“Riverdale,” “The Fix,” “The Bold and the Beautiful”), Essence Atkins (“Marlon,” “Half and Half”), Brian White (“Ray Donovan,” “Scandal”), Kendrick Cross (“Acrimony,”) Brely Evans (“Being Mary Jane”) and Erica Page (“Ozark,” “Bad Dad Rehab”). Multiple award-winning writer/EP Kevin Arkadie (“The Quad,” “New York Undercover”) has joined as showrunner. Created by executive producer/writer Jamey Giddens (“The Rich and The Ruthless”) from an original idea by Packer, “Ambitions” will debut on OWN in 2019, with the pilot episode directed by Benny Boom (“All Eyez on Me,” “Black Lightning”).

The Public Theater announced initial casting today for the world premiere of SOCRATES, written by acclaimed actor, director, and writer Tim Blake Nelson. Armando Nuñez has been named President and Chief Executive Officer for the CBS Global Distribution Group and Chief Content Licensing Officer for the CBS Corporation, it was announced today by Joe Ianniello, President and Acting Chief Executive Officer, CBS Corporation. This newly created position, reporting to Ianniello, streamlines CBS' content licensing, domestic syndication and international distribution in one division under Nuñez.

Fresh off its highest-rated year since 2014, CMT today announced premiere dates and first-look teasers for several new and returning originals as part of a new Thursday night winter programming lineup. “Racing Wives,” an hour-long unscripted series that offers a glimpse inside the opulent world of the wives of top race car drivers including Kurt and Kyle Busch, will premiere Thursday, January 3 at 9 pm ET/PT, along with season two of the hit docuseries “Music City,” from creator of the “The Hills”, at 10 pm ET/PT. The highly-anticipated return of “Wife Swap” will premiere on Thursday, February 28 at 9 pm ET/PT.

Atom Tickets, the social movie ticketing platform, announced today it has partnered with Cinpolis USA, CMX Cinemas, Malco Theatres, Maya Cinemas, and Far Away Entertainment to expand its national theater footprint. The deals add over 100 theater locations and more than 1,000 screens to the Atom Tickets network, bringing Atom Tickets' reach to more than 21,000 of the highest volume screens across North America.

Starz, a Lionsgate company (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), and Hulu today announced the launch of the STARZ premium add-on, available on all of Hulu's subscription plans, just in time for the upcoming season four premiere of the hit STARZ Original series 'Outlander' on Sunday, Nov. 4.

Rupert Friend will star in Separation, directed by William Brent Bell and written by Nick Amadeus and Joshua Braun.  The film is produced by Bell together with Yale Productions' Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, Russ Posternak and Jesse Korman, and RainMaker's Clay Pecorin and Russell Geyser.   Executive producers are Seth Posternak and Dennis Rice.  Yale Productions' Jon Keeyes serves as a Co-Producer.

Global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B) has promoted Agapy Kapouranis to President of International Television & Digital Distribution, it was announced today by Lionsgate President of Worldwide Television & Digital Distribution Jim Packer, to whom she will report. She succeeds Lionsgate veteran Peter Iacono, who has decided to leave the studio to become CEO of TravelCadabra.

Michael B. Jordan is set to star in and produce, 'The Silver Bear,' according to Variety. The Lionsgate film is an adaptation of an assassin story. 

Catch some air! SK8 Dawg arrives on DVD, Digital, and On Demand December 11 from Lionsgate. Winner of the Dove Seal of Approval for all ages, and starring Young Artist Award winner Joey Lawrence, Sara Fletcher, and Teen Choice Award winner David Arquette as the voice of Buddy, SK8 Dawg will be available on DVD for the suggested retail price of $14.98.

Lionsgate is in talks to back the Fox News - Roger Ailes film, according to Variety. The untitled Fox News sexual harassment film stars Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman.

George Lopez's multi-faceted career encompasses television, film, standup comedy and late-night television. Lopez is currently on a solo standup comedy tour, The Wall World Tour, coming to the Bass Concert Hall on January 19, as well as a group tour, The Comedy Get Down, starring himself, Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley & Cedric 'The Entertainer'. The four The Comedy Get Down comedians also recently wrapped a BET scripted comedy series based on their tour. Lopez will star on A&E's "Very Superstitious With George Lopez" that began airing in April.
