Fox has handed out a script and presentation commitment to the animated comedy Lyle & Caroline, featuring Lisa Kudrow, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Starz, a Lionsgate company (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), today announced it has signed Writer and Producer Heather Zuhlke (STARZ Original series 'Power,' 'Tell Me A Story,' 'Southland') to a two-year overall deal. Under the pact, Zuhlke will develop new projects exclusively for the network and join the writing staff of the drama series 'The Continental' from Starz and Lionsgate as co-executive producer. 'The Continental' is the television series adaptation of the highly successful Lionsgate film franchise John Wick, currently in development.

According to Deadline, Lionsgate is set to release KNIVES OUT in partnership with MRC. KNIVES OUT is a contemporary murder mystery that was written by Rian Johnson. Johnson is also set to direct. The cast is led by Daniel Craig who will lead the investigation as a detective. The cast also includes Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Lakeith Stanfield, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Ana de Armas, Christopher Plummer, Katherine Langford and Don Johnson. The film will be released November 27, 2019. 

Ryan Coogler's “Black Panther” was named the year's Best Film today by the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), the world's largest group of black film critics comprised of leading film critics from across the country. The groundbreaking blockbuster also won Best Director (Ryan Coogler) and Best Song (“All the Stars” performed by Kendrick Lamar and SZA with music and lyrics by Kendrick Lamar, Anthony Tiffith, Mark Spears, Solana Rowe and Al Shuckburgh) making it AAFCA's top award-winner of 2018.

Premium network EPIX has greenlit Punk, a four-part docuseries from executive producer John Varvatos.  Varvatos brings his passion and deep connection to the roots of the PUNK movement to the series, partnering with filmmaker Derik Murray's Network Entertainment to produce the quintessential story of punk.  The series is currently in production, and will premiere on EPIX on March 11, 2019 at 10 PM. 

Starz, a Lionsgate company (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), announced today that the new 10-episode STARZ Original series 'Now Apocalypse' will premiere on Sunday, March 10th at 9:00 PM ET/PT, following the Season Two premiere of 'American Gods,' exclusively on STARZPLAY via Prime Video Channels in the U.K. and Germany. This sexy, vibrant and fast-moving comedy series is created and executive-produced by veteran indie filmmaker Gregg Araki (Kaboom, Mysterious Skin). Steven Soderbergh (Logan Lucky, The Laundromat) and Gregory Jacobs (The Laundromat, Magic Mike XXL) also serve as executive producers.

According to Variety, the Starz series POWER has shut down production in Brooklyn this morning after an accident resulted in the unfortunate death of a production assistant.

Today actor, playwright, filmmaker, and comedian, Tyler Perry, has announced On Sale details for Tyler Perry's "Madea's Farewell Play Tour".  The nationwide tour will kick off in Oakland, CA on January 18, and over the course of 5 months, Perry will bring his beloved characters to venues across the United States, including a stop in St. Louis at the Fabulous Fox Theatre May 10-12. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The tour will wrap at New York City's iconic Radio City Music Hall at the end of May.

The series is adapted from Tana French's first two novels in the Dublin Murder Squad crime series, In The Woods and The Likeness. 'Dublin Murders' is an atmospheric, psychological thriller brought to life by acclaimed series creator and writer Sarah Phelps (Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None, J.K. Rowling's The Casual Vacancy).
