Theatrical press rep extraordinaire Sam Rudy recently announced his retirement from the Broadway scene.  Rudy began his Broadway career as a press assistant for the 1979 play Strider. Since then, his Sam Rudy Media Relations has represented thirteen Broadway shows and many more off-Broadway productions, including Avenue Q and Hamilton.  Some of Rudy's Broadway friends got together to toast his retirement and BroadwayWorld is taking you inside the very special event below!

Modern American drama was born in Provincetown when the Provincetown Players were founded in July, 1915. They are credited with changing American theater forever by birthing the careers of famous playwrights such as Eugene O'Neill and Susan Glaspell, who would eventually relocate to Greenwich Village to found the historic and famous Provincetown Playhouse. These revolutionary artists set the stage for Provincetown to become a hub for talented and innovative theatrical minds. Ever since, Provincetown has been an incubator for brilliant theatrical characters, many of whom would go on to become well-known on an international stage.

In celebration of his 100th birthday, jazz favorites and vocal legends Clint Holmes and Billy Stritch will pay tribute to the unforgettable Nat "King" Cole with their new show, Straighten Up and Fly Right-The Music of Nat "King" Cole, at Feinstein's at the Nikko on Thursday, July 18 at 8 p.m. and Friday, July 19 at 8 p.m. Joined by musical director Christian Tamburr and his trio, longtime friends Clint and Billy will combine their musical talents to perform many of the timeless hits made famous by the master himself, including "Route 66," "Mona Lisa," and "Nature Boy." Baruch Performing Arts Center at Baruch College announces its 2019-20 Season of music, theatre, dance, opera and more, a season spanning genres and cultural influences, rich in imagination and ideas.

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce Music Mondays, the summer concert series for July and August, with all shows at 8 pm.

Bellman's Bar in The Carlyle Hotel is a time capsule of New York City celebrity music nightlife. Sunday's the music and entertainment of BIlly Stritch and Jim Caruso superbly add to the history of the legendary room. Last night Jim was probably being mobbed at the Easter Parade being mistaken for Fred Astaire so BIlly had award winning Jazz vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli join him for an evening of great music.

For the seventh year in a row, Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel with their evening of swinging standards starting Sunday, April 7, then running every Sunday through June 30, from 9pm to midnight.

In FIERCELY INDEPENDENT, Julie and Robert have been married for four years.  They are not getting along.  They decide to spend 24 hours together in a hotel room with no television, no cellphones, no internet or computers to see if they can work things out.  Upon entering the hotel room, Julie remarks to Robert, "I guess the separate beds were your idea."

Actress Judith Light and playwright Tony Kushner are set to receive DGF Madge Evans & Sidney Kingsley Awards. Former DGF Fellow, Oliver Houser, also announced as recipient of the DGF Stephen Schwartz Award.
