Tony nominated theatre luminary Austin Pendleton directs and adapts a new stage version of Richard III, Shakespeare's greatest villain, in WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III, which begins performances August 1st at the 124 Bank Street Theatre. The play combines texts from William Shakespeare's Henry VI Part 3 and Richard III, to create a version, which has never been seen before. Produced by Ruth Stage, the production stars Pendleton as Henry VI and Matt de Rogatis as Richard III, while giving a fascinating take on one of history's most notorious villains. The opening is set for Saturday, August 4th at 7PM. WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III will play a limited engagement through August 19th. The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the return of Broadway singer/actor Max von Essen in concert last night, July 23. Max von Essen, currently starring in the hit Broadway production of Anastasia, returned with his old fashioned, new show celebrating the best of Broadway and the American songbook. Once again, Billy Stritch was musical director for the evening, with Steve Doyle on bass, Daniel Glass on drums, and Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf on cello.

Since opening the Rrazz Room New Hope space in November of 2013, the venue has presented legendary artists who have brought patrons to their feet nightly.
Jana Robbins (Gypsy, I Love My Wife, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife) and Haley Swindal (Jekyll and Hyde, White Christmas, Sweeney Todd) will join forces and return to Feinstein's/54 Below for two unforgettable evenings with 'We Just Move On! - The Songs of Kander and Ebb.' The shows are slated for Thursday, August 30th at 9:30PM and Thursday, September 6th at 7:00PM. Following separate sold-out shows of their own, both Robbins and Swindal are no strangers to the Kander and Ebb catalogue. Jana appeared in two tours of Zorba and both Jana and Haley have played 'Sally Bowles' in separate productions of Cabaret. The veteran duo can currently be seen starring together in the smash Off-Broadway show, This One's For The Girls.
