OK, so I'll admit I was hesitant to start reviewing at the Children's Theatre. But then at the urging of others and the insistence that they are putting up some of the better shows in town, I relented. And if their current offering, "A Single Shard", is any indication, then I seriously need to rethink my attitude. Yes, it's children's theater in that it's theater that's OK for children to see, but it's so much more and better than you may expect.

New York Stage and Film held its Annual Winter Gala last night, December 4, 2011 at The Plaza Hotel (770 Fifth Avenue, New York City). Honored at this year's ceremony was Academy Award nominee and winner of multiple Tony and Emmy Awards, actor Christopher Plummer; Artistic Director of the Cherry Lane Theatre, Angelina Fiordellisi and producer/writer/director Matt Williams (Principal, Wind Dancer Films). Fifty two years later, Theatre Puget Sound is thrilled to announce that Bill Forrester will become the 14th individual to receive the illustrious Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award. The Off Broadway production of Standing On Ceremony kicked off its open-ended run on November 7. Conceived by Brian Shnipper and directed by Stuart Ross, Standing On Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays began as a series of benefit events in Los Angeles, taking on a life of their own as an inspiring theatrical evening. The New York cast features Craig Bierko, Mark Consuelos, Polly Draper, Harriet Harris, Beth Leavel and Richard Thomas. The first national tour will launch in the Fall of 2012 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI.

The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is sponsored by official charity partners, the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®), Newman's Own® Organics: The Second Generation®, with additional sponsorship by the New York Times. The event will take place in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).

Last month, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN released a new promo video for the show, which featured leading man Aaron Tviet, his female co-stars, and the music of Adele! Now the show has launched a video contest that gives fans the opportunity to win tickets to the show!
