Vineyard Theatre members will have exclusive access to the Broadway engagements of Is This A Room and Dana H. beginning Monday, August 16 at 1:00 pm ET through Friday, August 20. Previews for Is This A Room begin September 24, 2021, with an opening night scheduled for October 11, 2021.

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham announced the line-up today for The Public’s 2021-22 Season, returning to their landmark home on 425 Lafayette Street after the year-long pandemic shutdown with a robust slate of new productions and ongoing  programming.

Originally, the 2021/22 season was scheduled to begin on October 1, 2021 with the world premiere of the ripple, the wave that carried me home, written by Christina Anderson and directed by Miranda Haymon. That production will now be the final show of the 2021/22 season, beginning performances on September 9, 2022.

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern have announced that Jesse Cameron Alick will join the company in the newly created position of Associate Artistic Director. Jesse joins the Vineyard direct from the Public Theater where has spent 15 years in the artistic department.

The Vineyard has just announced its new season, which will include productions of Is This A Room, conceived and directed by Obie Award winner Tina Satter; and the Center Theatre Group, Goodman Theatre and Vineyard Theatre production of Dana H., by Obie Award winner Lucas Hnath and directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters. Both shows will come to Broadway's Lyceum Theatre (149 W 45th Street, New York, NY), playing on a rotating schedule.

Berkeley Rep’s leadership announced today that after being closed for a year and a half, the Tony Award-winning theatre will reopen for live performances on Friday, October 1. The 2021-22 subscription season kicks off with a Berkeley Rep commission, Christina Anderson’s the ripple, the wave that carried me home, directed by Miranda Haymon. 

Mia Katigbak, co-founder and actor-manager of NAATCO, today announced that NAATCO will extend on demand performances of the US Premiere of a new play by Caryl Churchill, What If If Only, realized by Les Waters and Jared Mezzocchi. The performances will be available through Sunday June 20th only.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced that all 10 episodes of the audio series titled Place/Settings: Berkeley are now available. Place/Settings: Berkeley premiered on January 12 with each episode released once a week. Now listeners can enjoy the entire series all in one sitting. Each episode runs approximately 10-20 minutes.

NAATCO, today announced that the company has commissioned five Asian American playwrights, all women, to write monologues for characters no younger than 60-years-old. Each monologue will be at least 30 minutes long, and all five will be performed together as a piece entitled Out of Time.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation has announced that the 2020 Joe A. Callaway Awards will be awarded to Danya Taymor for excellence in directing for Heroes of the Fourth Turning (Playwrights Horizons) and Travis Wall for excellence in choreography for The Wrong Man (MCC Theater).

San Francisco’s Cutting Ball Theatre has scored quite a coup in presenting the world premiere of Utopia, the latest work from Obie-winning playwright Charles L. Mee, available for streaming from October 16th through November 15th. Directed by Ariel craft, who is also Cutting Ball’s Artistic Director, the play is a multidisciplinary fantasia that explores the question “How do you make a life?” Cutting Ball is partnering on the production with RAWdance contemporary dance company, and Creativity Explored which supports artists with developmental disabilities, to create a work that harmonizes theater, dance and animation in a genre-defying dreamscape.  Audiences can stream from home from October 16th through November 15th. Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern have announced that John J. Caswell, Jr. is the recipient of the 2020-21 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award. Caswell will be presented with the award at The Vineyard's reimagined Emerging Artists Virtual Salon on Wednesday, October 21 at 5:00 PM ET via Zoom.

Dutch Kills Theater (In Quietness, The Sister, The Providence of Neighboring Bodies) will present Wolf 359's TEMPING an interactive, immersive and site specific solo theatrical experience. It is written by Michael Yates Crowley (The Rape of the Sabine Women, The Ted Haggard Monologues) and directed by Michael Rau.

Vineyard Theatre has announced the company's upcoming 2020-2021 Season which includes digital and outdoor productions, as well as the reopening when safe to do so of Vineyard Theatre's home at 108 East 15th Street with the return of the award-winning Dana H. by Lucas Hnath and two world premieres from Tori Sampson and David Cale.

Berkeley Rep's Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer today announced three additional virtual projects for the fall. The season, titled Rep On-Air, will include collaborations with Tony Award nominee Raúl Esparza (Company, Speed-the-Plow, and Taboo), celebrated New Yorker cartoon artist Tom Toro, Pulitzer Finalist Eisa Davis, and Bay Area favorite Hershey Felder.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today revealed all seven productions for the 2021 subscription season. The shows announced include the West Coast premiere and season opener Sanctuary City by Martyna Majok; the world premiere musical Goddess by Saheem Ali; the world premiere musical Swept Away and more.
