The epic musical love story CHESS starring Michael Ball as Anatoly, Alexandra Burke as Svetlana, Cedric Neal as The Arbiter, Tim Howar asFreddie, Cassidy Janson as Florence and Phillip Browne as Molokov has just two weeks remaining of its limited West End season which must end on 2 June 2018.

The Dinner Party Operas, a showcase of eleven original mini-operas inspired by Judy Chicago's iconic feminist installation The Dinner Party, a multi-media work housed in the Brooklyn Museum, will be presented this May in New York City by the NYU Tisch Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program (GMTWP), the Brooklyn Museum, the NYU Tisch Department of Design for Stage & Film and American Opera Projects (AOP). Six of the operas will be performed on Wednesday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. at NYU Tisch's GMTWP Black Box Theatre, located in Manhattan at 715 Broadway, between Washington and Waverly places, on the second floor. The remaining five operas will be performed on Sunday, May 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium at the Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11238. Each under 15-minutes long, the operas were written and composed by students in the NYU Tisch GMTWP Opera Lab and will be performed by professional opera singers with piano accompaniment. Chess is coming back to the West End for the first time since 1986, opening at the London Coliseum on Thursday 26 April 2018 (Press night on Tuesday 1 May 2018) for a strictly limited 5 week season. The show will come without one of its previously announced cast members, however. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Murray Head has withdrawn from the production. A show representative explained:

When I attended the Broadway incarnation of In the Heights, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Accordingly, when they announced their current season, I had the upmost confidence that the showing at the gorgeous The John W. Engeman Theatre was going to be just as stellar. Being the Engeman Theatre, I was proven right. The wonderful production runs through April 29th at the Northport venue masterfully directed by Paul Stancato.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater  presents the powerful theatrical event, Until The Flood in the Stiemke Studio beginning now through April 22.  Fresh off its Off-Broadway run where it earned a New York Times Critics' Pick, Until The Flood is performed by powerhouse creator and Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents Until The Flood performed by powerhouse creator and Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith in the Stiemke Studio beginning March 13 through April 22. With Until the Flood brings the return of the much praised and sought after community engagement program - Act II. After each of the 48 performances of Until The Flood a guest responder, representing a broad range of community leaders, will give a five minute response to the show, followed by small group facilitated discussions led by trained members of the Zeidler Center for Public Discussion.
