Throughout the world Robert Wilson, the artistic director and founder of the Watermill Center, has staged both original works and productions from the traditional theater repertoirE. Wilson is known for pushing the boundaries of theatre. His works are noted for their austere style, very slow movement, and often extreme scale in space or in time. Each summer Wilson develops new work at the Watermill Center, a theater laboratory that brings together students and experienced professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment dedicated to creative collaboration. Wilson’s production of Einstein on the Beach with the music of Philip Glass will be seen at BAM this September.
