A grand time was had by all when Richard Skipper celebrated Carol Channing's 97th Birthday. The Laurie Beechman Theater (Kenny Bell, Producing Artistic Director) and Russ Woolley presented the prince of live entertainment along with a cavalcade of stars equipped with brilliant songs and enchanting stories of Broadway and the woman of the hour, Carol Channing.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.  This Thursday night, February 8,  Broadway Sessions opens the microphone up to our audience + special guests

Few new musicals have been quite so critically well received as The Band's Visit. It was with the same enthusiasm and love that we recently welcomed the cast of The Band's Visit to Broadway Sessions. Enjoy these intimate performances from Sharone Sayegh, Madison Micucci, Pomme Koch, Kristen SIeh, Ahmad Maksoud, Jonathan Raviv, Rachel Prather, Kirsten SIeh and more. Newly announced 2018 Bistro Award winner for Solo Play, Brooklyn actor-writer, Dan Ruth, brings his tour-de-force black comedy, A Life Behind Bars, back to the Laurie Beechman Theatre for one performance on Thursday, February 22nd at 7PM.

Late to the Party, a rollicking cabaret show starring wickedly funny singer-comedian Brooke Davis, comes to the intimate Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York's West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street at 9th Avenue, Saturday, Feb. 24, Sunday, Feb. 25 and Thursday, March 1. Performances are at 7:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively.

PITTSBURGH CLO is pleased to welcome a collection of writing teams from across the country to Pittsburgh for the inaugural SPARK festival in March. These teams were chosen from a highly-selective submissions process and will have the opportunity to rehearse and revise their work in residencies ranging from two days to three weeks. SPARK will provide dramaturgy and production resources to 10 new musicals at all stages of development, in addition to the world premiere of UP AND AWAY. As a part of the development period, eight of the musicals will receive public presentations through which the writing teams can gather audience insights and focus their intentions for the next phase of development. A major initiative of Pittsburgh CLO's recently completed Next Generation Capital Campaign, SPARK is designed to cultivate new and innovative work from emerging and established musical theater artists.

Tony and Drama Desk nominee and multi-Audelco Award winner Andre De Shields and internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Sheila Jordan are among the artists who will be honored at the 33rd Annual Bistro Awards Gala on Monday, March 12 at 6:30 pm at Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd St. As is the Bistro Award tradition, the evening will feature performances by all of the winners.

As a versatile artist whose styles encompass a wide range of musical genres, Philip Fortenberry is a performer with an equally expansive career. Philip is making a stop at the Marcus Center's Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall for one night only in The Hands of Liberace.

LookOut! Steppenwolf: Murphy, Slater, and Smith Raise Their Voices on 2/26 & 2/27

Just four months after acclaimed Musical Director Barry Levitt tragically died of a heart attack just hours before a performance at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Charlotte Patton--a beloved performer for whom Levitt frequently played and was one of his closest friends in Cabaret--died early Thursday morning at Mt. Sinai Hospital after an almost two-year battle with cancer. Both passed away at the age of 70. 

Graham J is fast gaining an international reputation as one of the finest singer/songwriters of his generation. Acclaimed for his highly emotional interpretations, outstanding and unique vocals, and his eclectic mix of repertoire, his music is being played on stations throughout the UK, USA and Canada. Graham's first album 'Wild Is' received much acclaim with four and five star reviews from magazines such as Maverick Magazine and Blues Matters.

As fate would have it, 2018 BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award nominees THOSE GIRLS lost their category to Glenn Close (it happens.) Undaunted, they're bringing their acclaimed show from 2017 back to the Laurie Beechman Theatre for one encore performance on Saturday, February 10th at 7pm.

This week, the Broadwaysted Crew is having the 'Best Day Ever' with Wesley Taylor, one of the stars of SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS! We're pouring out a few rounds of Hudson Manhattan Rye and sharing a lot of laughs as Wesley gushes about working with Tina Landau and how the role of Plankton was 'Taylor-Made.'
